SPOTLIGHT [On Hold]

Chapter - 2

If that girl ever comes near me again, I'm gonna kill her... I yelled in my mind as I collapsed on the steps of my school. The bell has already gone off. It'd be better to miss school than to turn up late and get a tardy. I have to walk back. I thought and started walking back to my house, which was locked without keys. As I walked further, I felt like somebody was following me. But who? I didn't have the mind to look back. I didn't know and I didn't care. Then somebody called me, by my name Leo. That must be.....

"KATY!"

"What are you doing here?"

"Didn't got to school today. Just thought I would take a walk and guess who I found? You, walking along the road like you just died."

"Its my sister Katy. She made me miss the school bus, and I walked all the way to the school. But when I got there, the bell had already rung. So I thought that missing school would be better than getting a tardy and facing the zoology professor's wrath. But I now am regretting the decision coz I'll have to stay out in the porch all day long, and with no cell phone too."

"What happened?"

"Well, I lost the keys, broke my mom's cell phone and etc.. etc.."

"How 'bout you come to my home for today? You can stay there and of course explain to me what happened
Alright?"

"Sure Katy.. Thank you so much"

"Come on, let's go."

And this is why guys, Katy is my bestest buddy. Well, she and I are like family, more family-er than my little sister and me. I walked to her house with her. Her mom was a stay at home parent. She had a five year old brother who hadn't gone to school too. I dont know why Katy didn't go to school today. Maybe I'll asks her later. Their house was a little one. She was a bit poor. But more homely and accepting everybody even if we don't have much food kind. Her dad's an alcoholic. He may be cruel when he's drunk, but he's kinda the best dad when he's not. I just love her family.

"Hello... This isn't Leo.. The Leo I know is way healthier than you" Katy's mom said from the kitchen.

"I.am. Leo Mrs. Valerie." I told her, stressing the 'I am'.

"You are becoming so skinny dear."she said.

Katy took me to her room, painted in a pale purple, almost like lavender, but not. Her room was small, but cozy. She wasn't a nerd in school, but one look at her room made me rethink that as she had stacks and stacks of books piled up in a corner, because she didn't have a shelf.

"So, get settled down and tell me Leo, what exactly happened?"

I sat down on the bed, right next to her and started telling her all that happened, and how I missed my zoology retest.

"Your sister really needs some serious anti-bully potion or something like that. Every time you are low, u ask you and it all turns out to be your sister." "But still, Leo she is your sister."

"I know Katy. That's why I'm still letting her live."
