Chapter I~ Wandering Child

We were walking through the pouring rain with a umbrella protecting us. "Quinn, are you sure we're going the right way?" I asked. She was holding a map in front of her face while walking. Thunder struck across the sky. We were lost and there was no one around for miles. "Well?" I asked. Quinn studied the map for a moment then looked at me. She shrugged. I then face palmed. We looked ahead and saw a tall figure in front of us. It wore a black suit with polka dots all over it. It wore a polka doted top hat and was smiling at us. I looked at Quinn and before I knew it, she ran up to the creature.

"Quinn!" I called out her name. It had taken me awhile but I recognized this strange unearthly being. It was a slender. I ran over to Quinn and pulled her away from it's grasp. "Quinn! Do you know what this thing is?" I said. "Yes, I do! His name is Splendorman! Or Splendy for short." She said, whispering the last part. "How do you know?!" I wanted to know what she was talking about. "Well it seems that you two know each other." A  deep male voice said. That sent chills down my spine. I slowly looked up and saw another version of the guy but with a black fedora. He was holding a rose and had black suit. We looked at one another. "Run!" I said.

We took off running from the creatures from behind us. I have heard so many stories of these creatures. They would kill and harm people. But I didn't know that there was more than one. "Who is that?" I asked Quinn. She shrugged and the same man from before appeared in front of us. "Don't go!" He said. "We might as well." I said. We ran past them and down the highway. That was when, a black tentacle wrapped around our waists. I looked at Quinn and we slowly looked behind us. "We just wanna be friends!" The polka doted creature said. He brought us into a tight hug while we looked at the other guy. That was when we saw another figure coming out of the shadows.

It had a blank white face and wore a black suit. It had long tentacles protruding from his back. It stopped and looked at us and sighed. He then motioned the two men toward him. The guy in the fedora and followed behind the man while the polka dot guy hugged us close while walking with the two other men. "What is going on?" I whispered. "We're going to our lovely home! It's so pretty all the time!" The polka dot guy exclaimed with joy. "Oh! I forgot! My name's Splendorman but you can call me Splendy!" He said. I looked at Quinn. She shrugged.

Once we arrived at a tall mansion, Splendy let us free. The guy turned to look at us. "Offender, please get rid of these children." The guy spoke. "Sure can do brother. But can I keep the girl?" He said. That caught me off guard. I looked at Quinn who was drooling over the guy in the fedora. I shook her out of her daze. "Quinn! Don't fall under their control!" I yelled. The guy face palmed and sighed. He turned around and opened the door. Splendy motioned us forward and we entered the mansion. We were soaking wet from running and had lost our umbrella in the process.

Once we entered, a knife was immediately thrown at us but I ducked. It hit the wall and we looked at a pale teenage boy. He had a wide grin across his face and he didn't seem to blink once. "Finally! You're home! Smile needs to be taken out for a walk." The boy spoke. "Who?" Then a dog with red fur pounced on top of me. 

I stared into it's eyes and saw true horror. "Spread the word." A voice whispered into my ear. Then, a whistle snapped me out of it. The dog so called 'Smile' ran over to the boy and put his paws onto his knees. I then heard Quinn squeal loudly as she was hugging a boy with brown hair. "You're so adorable!" She then proceeded to squish his face. "My name's Toby or Ticci as friends call me." The boy said.

Then, the man from before tapped his foot softly onto the floor. Everything went silent. "Attention everyone, we have guests for awhile. My brothers apparently found them on the side of the road and decided to take them here. So please don't try and kill them. I'm looking at you Offender." The guy said. The man so called 'Offender' seemed to roll his eyes at him. "I promise I won't seduce the young girl. Brother's oath." He said. "Splendor, make sure you keep an eye on Offender. If he tries to make a move, report it." The man said. "Oh goodie!" Splendy clapped with joy. "For now, I am your host so you can address me as Slender." The guy said. He then disappeared before my very eyes. I looked over at Quinn who was talking to a little brown haired girl in a pink dress. "Splendy always loves my tea parties!" The girl exclaimed.

I looked around and saw myself surrounded by monsters. This was not how I imagined my life to go. Heck, I had no protection from these monsters expect to recite the Lord's Prayer. I was truly terrified for our well-being.
