When I wake up, I realize that I'm in my room again, but I'm sleeping in my bed without any sheets covering. Yawning as quietly as I can, I swing my feet over the edge before sleepily pushing myself off of the rather comfortable mattress.
What happened yesterday? I ask myself as I go into the bathroom. As I brush my teeth, I mentally make a timeline of what happened yesterday. I was almost shot by something, ran downstairs before I transformed, attacked the man who tried to attack me, Sophie came... Suddenly, I do a spit take with the water inside of my mouth. Sophie got hurt, I remember before transmitting to the female Percipient, Sophie? Are you there?
I'm here, Sophie replies quickly. Why? What happened? Where are you?
Smiling at her concern, I explain, I remembered that you got hurt... How are you feeling now? Drying my hands and face, I change into some grey pants and a dark blue shirt, coincidentally the same color as my scar. Shaking my head, I walk over to the connecting door and open it. When I don't hear anyone, I slowly step in, looking around for the female Percipient.
"I'm doing fine now," a familiar voice tells me. When I turn around, I see Sophie smiling, her brown eyes almost smiling as well. Her gaze becoming worried, Sophie reaches up and touches the side of my head. Blushing slightly when I lean into her hand, the female Percipient says, "How are you doing? You got thrown into a wall..."
I place my hand over Sophie's gently, making her blush slightly more prominent. "I should've gone down there quieter," I murmur. "Then you wouldn't have gone hurt..." I close my eyes and transmit, I'm sorry...
There's nothing to be sorry about, Sophie says, causing me to look at her again. "It's better than you having to deal with him alone. Besides, Caroline's the true hero- she knocked him out," she whispers, smiling as she places a hand on my arm. I notice how she said "him" instead of "Fitton", since we both think it wasn't him. Instead, I smile softly and stare into her brown eyes, feeling better than before.
I slowly reach up to touch where I'm sure that Sophie got hurt. I can't help but sigh in relief when she doesn't wince at my fingers. "It doesn't hurt there anymore?"
Sophie grins before shaking her head softly so my fingers don't move that much. "I think it healed overnight," the female Percipient says. "And you?"
I shrug slightly. "Guess we'll find out later," I say honestly.
Suddenly, a high-pitched squeal echoes through the room, causing Sophie and I to separate and look at each other with confused noises. I'm about to ask what it was when realization hits me like a truck. Groaning, I facepalm myself. "...I forgot that we had a sleepover-"
"-with the others..." Sophie says, her eyes widening. The two of us then look around us to see Laurel on the ground with her eyes closed and a goofy smile on her face. "What happen-" the female Percipient begins to ask.
"Fainted from you two," Audrey explains, her voice sounding annoyed ut her face looking like it's withholding peals of laughter.
Donovan rolls his eyes, "And she's not the only one." He points at his feet, where Benen's laying with a similar grin as the female Altruistic. Smirking at our shocked and embarrassed faces, the male Sovereign looks at the two of us. "What happened last night?"
"How long were you guys listening to us?" Sophie asks, raising an eyebrow at Audrey.
"Long enough to want to barf," Audrey says quickly. "Now continue."
Rolling my eyes, I explain the events of what happened from being woken up by someone who looks like Fitton to Mr. Wallace walking in on our discovery. "What did Wallace do afterwards?" Donovan asks.
