Chapter Three

"The Guys in Black"

> Nicole <

He turned and whispered," hey, you should come over here."

I got up and walked over to him. There were two people dressed in all black. They were sneaking around the back of the school.

Jackson looked at me and I nodded. I helped him over the gate. I wasn't able to get over.

"Just stay here, I'll go see what they are up to," he said still whispering.

" No. What if you get hurt?" I said whispering while pressing my face against the gate, reaching for him.

'I won't. I promise," he said and took my hand and kissed the back of it.

" Be safe," I replied still a little shocked. I backed away from the gates as he walked after the people in black.

Ruby nudged up against my leg.

 I looked down and asked her, "what girl. Are you hungry?" How she replied was by jumping around.

"I guess that's a yes?" I asked and the little evolution pokemon nodded.

I went back to the tree we set our stuff by. I opened a can of poke-chow and set in front of her. Ruby started eating.

I let out Sapphire and Bubby. And opened the last two cans of poke-chow. I set the cans in front of them. i started thinking about Jackson, 'what if he does get hurt? How will I know'.

I came up with an idea. After all my pokemon was done eating. I hid the backpack in a bush. My pokemon and I walked back over to the gates. I turned around and looked at my pokemon with a big smile on my face. They all tilted their heads.

"Sapphire help over the gates. And the Bubby use your vines to stop me from falling. Ok?" I said looking at my pokemon. They thought about it, then nodded. They helped me over the gate and I returned Sapphire and Bubby.

Since I was over now, I looked around. No one was around. Right was the way I decided to go. I was listening to the things around me as I was walking. I heard Something. It sounded like running coming from behind me. I turned around. And there they were. The guys in black running straight toward me. With Jackson running behind them.

Seconds later I was on the ground. I released my pokemon." Go chase them down! don't let them away!" I demanded. 

Jackson appeared over me with his hand out. I took his hand and he helped me up. Then we began running toward the people.

He looked over at me as we were running. "What are you doing here?" he asked kinda yelling.

I looked at the ground and said " I wanted to make sure you didn't get hurt."

"Well did I?"

"No, but I…" I said.

He stopped running. I stopped running and looked back. He walked toward me.

"Nicole, I wanted to go so you wouldn't get hurt. And I failed, you were pushed. Come on. We need to get them," he said.

He released his pokèmon and told them, "follow Nicole's pokemon and stop the guys they're chasing!"

Jackson and I went back to running. When we got to where our pokemon ran to. Bubby had one in his vines and Tony was holding the other in the air using psychic.

Jackson said, "go get an adult. I'll make sure they don't get away."

I ran through the closest doors and ran into the office in the back of the school. The lady behind the desk asked, "Is there something wrong?"
