"C'mon Vi! Wake up we have to leave soon!" My dad yelled from downstairs. Today was the day we were moving to San Diego, California. To say I was dreading it was an understatement. "Ugh five more minutes!" I yelled pulling the blankets up over my head. "You said that twenty minutes ago now come on! You have to put the last of your boxes in the truck and get ready! We're leaving in an hour!" he yelled back. I reluctantly got out of bed and went to the bathroom to brush my teeth.
I got dressed into my black ripped skinny jeans, a tight black shirt that says 'Good is Good, Bad is Better' on it, and my combat boots. The real ones too, not the crappy ones that all the "white girls" buy to seem bad. Ohh they're so scary. Notice my sarcasm. I then did my makeup. It consisted of heavy black liner on the bottom waterline, natural eye shadow, and a dark black line of eyeliner on top. If you couldn't tell, black is my favorite color.
After I straightened my hair, I brought all my boxes downstairs and put them in the truck. I walked back up to my room once more just to see it for the last time. I smiled as all the few, but good, memories came back to me.
"I'm gonna win!" I yelled as I was nearing the swings. "Not if i get there first!" Matt yelled back to me. "You wish, Hunter!" I retorted running faster. I was currently racing my best friend, Matt Hunter, to the swingset at the park. Yes, fifteen year olds are acting like five year olds. I was just about to reach the swingset when I felt something heavy on my back and suddenly I was on the ground with Matt on top of me. "I told you that you wouldn't win." Matt said smirking. "Technically, the race hasn't ended yet. So neither of us won or lost. Not yet anyway." I smirked at him trying to get away but Matt had me pinned down. "Let me go Matt so I can win." I chuckled. "On one condition" Matt started. I looked at him to continue. "Kiss me." I was shocked. Matt Hunter, my best friend for my entire life, my crush since second grade, was telling me to kiss him. He hust've noticed my shocked expression because he started speaking. "I mean, you don't have to if you don't want to. I totally get it. We're best friends i shouldn't like you. I'm sorry." He went to get up but I pulled him back down and kissed him. When he pulled away we just smiled at each other for a few moments. "I like you too" I said and we both smiled. "Be mine?" He asked. "Of course." I replied feeling giddy.
I felt tears forming in my eyes at the memor. I'm going to miss this place. Never in my life would I have thought that I'd miss Jersey. But, like most things, everything that goes up must come down. I grimaced at all of the painful memories that had happened. I was hoping that they would stay in this room and olny the good memories would come with me. I pushed all those bad thoughts away to be left behind. This was a fresh start for me. Of course I'm going to be the same person I am now, not giving a shit about anything or what others think. However, I have a plan for my fellow classmates at my new school. A huge surprise is in for them, and it's not just a new girl.
