I woke up the next morning to the smell of pancakes. Oh sweet delicious pancakes. I quickly got out of bed and made my way downstairs to see my mom making a ton of pancakes and bacon. She knows this is my favorite breakfast and only cooks it when she wants me to do something. Uh oh, this can't be good. "Hey mom" I greeted. "Morning honey, how'd you sleep?" she asked, acting like she cared. "Good, that bed is so comfortable. Now what's going on?" I asked. "Nothing's going on. I just wanted to make my beautiful daughter her favorite breakfast." She smiled at me. I looked at her with a skeptical expression. She placed a plate of steaming pancakes in front of me causing my mouth to water. Just as I was about to take a bite, she spoke up. "Honey, your father and I want to talk to you." she said. There is was, the part as to why she made these pancakes. "We talked about this before we left." I started as my dad came into the kitchen, pouring himself a cup of coffee. "This is a new start. I'm still gonna be me, just not get into as much trouble." I finished. "That's not what we wanted to talk about." my father said looking slightly guilty. Oh man, what now? "We want to try to start over with you, Vi." he continued. "We hate that we've been such bad parents torward you and we're hoping you'll forgive us so we can start again." my mom said. They both had hope in their eyes and that was when I lost it. "You guys have been there for Brandon and Tyler their whole lives! You love them unconditionally and except them the way they are! But me?" I scoffed. "You hate me! You always try to tell me how to live my life and what I should and shouldn't like! Well guess the fuck what?! This is my life and I'm not gonna let some shit parents ruin it! I gave you guys chances. It was fine for the first week but then you went back to ignoring me. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm leaving." I said grabbing my vans and putting them on. "You can eat your pity breakfast by yourselves. Maybe invite the children you actually like to eat it with you." I said as i left. Leaving my parents behind with shocked and hurt expressions on their faces.

I've been walking around for about ten minutes and made my way into the main part of town. I came across a little diner and decided to go inside. It's a cute little place. Nothing too fancy. Kinda like the ones you see in movies, actually and I like it. "Hello darlin' what can I get for ya?" a kind lady with a southern accent asked me holding a pen and paper. "Hi, could I get a chocolate chip muffin and a cup of tea?" I asked with a smile. "Sure thing" she smiled before writing it down and walking away. A minute later she was back with my food and it was amazing. The muffin was so fresh and literally melted in my mouth and the tea tasted different, but so much better than tea normally tastes. I'm not sure why though. Probably just a different brand.
I was just about to get up to leave when I noticed three teenage boys walk in. Now I know what you're thinking. Oh he sees her staring at him and they talk and bam love. Haha no. I don't do relationships anymore and I'm my own independant person. They took at seat at a booth farther away from me so I took my chance to get out of there while they were ordering before they could see me. I didn't feel like being questioned about being new and all that shit. I wandered around the city some more and it was actually really nice. It was really fake though, as in I saw so many fake people there. It looked like half of them had a clown cake smashed onto their face while walking a pet rat or had one in their purse. I love animals, don't get me wrong, but when it comes to chihuahuas? I think not.
When I got home, I glanced at the clock. Damn four already? I've been out since eleven this morning. I changed into more comfortable clothes and came back downstairs for dinner. It was silent except for my mother occasionally telling Tyler to chew with his mouth closed and to stop playing with his food.
I just watched TV in my room until eleven when my dad came in. "Violet get your backpack and put all the things you need in it. You have school tomorrow. Goodnight." my dad said and shut the door. I found my backpack and put all my books and pencil case in it. Ugh tomorrow was Thursday and my first day of school. Great.
