Chapter 2

~~~~~~~Two Days Later~~~~~~~~~

I arrive at my apartment and sit on the couch to watch tv and turn on animal planet to watch some animal cops. A few hours later, I get up and heat up some microwaveable Mac and cheese to eat, then I go brush my teeth and grab my laptop and read twitter and tweet until I fall asleep.

~~~~~~~~~Morning~~~~~~~~~~~

I wake up and take a shower, do my makeup, and do my hair. I know that Carson doesn't want to have a dog that had to live in our small apartment, but I just can't wait until we move to get I do so I grab my purse and shoes and run out the door. I grab a cab and tell them "1876 Cavvies street please". I pay the driver and get out and walk into the pet store which is also an animal rescue.

"Hello, is there anything I can help you with today ma'am?"

"Yes, I am looking to adopt a dog"

"Right this way then" The employee says. We walk to a different half of the store and I see all the dogs in kennels and I want to cry so badly, but I know I shouldn't.

"Thank you" I say. The employee nods and walks away when another employee comes out.

"Are there any dogs you would like to play with today?"

Hmm, I look around and see the most adorable dog named Mya and I just had to ask if I could play with her.

"Mya please?"

"Sure". She lets Mya out and Mya runs around and wants play a lot.

"Mya is a 2 year old female dog who we rescued from the city who had a broken leg from getting hit by a car."

"Aww, she's so cute! How much is she?"

"All the dogs 4 years of age and younger are 450 dollars, and the dogs 5 and older are 200 dollars."

"Ok thanks. I think I would like to adopt Mya today"

"Sure! We have a few papers for you sign out, and Mya had been vaccinated and had all of her medications she has needed since we got her."

"That's great! Thanks." The employee hands me a few papers I fill out then hand to her.

"Just a moment please". The employee walks out of the room and I decide to take a quick walk around the store. I walk to the wall where there are leashes and collars and pick one out for her. I then walk to pick up some dog food, bowls, toys, and a bed for her. I walk back to the kennel area and the employee comes out and says every thing is ready. She hands me a slip to pay for Mya at the front desk and I put Mya on the leash and pay for everything. I then walk out and find another cab to take me home.

~~~~~~~~~~At Home~~~~~~~~~~

I get home and let Mya off the leash in my apartment and put the bag of food on the table, her bed next to my bed, and put her bowls on the floor in the kitchen and I fill one up with water and the other up with food. I grab a squeaky toy and grow it around the house watching Mya happily chasing after it. After a bit of playing with Mya, I take her outside, let her do her business, then put her in the couch next to me so I can watch some news and animal planet. A few hours later I walk Mya again, get ready for bed and put Mya in bed, and drift off into my sleep.
