My Heart of Darkness

~Darkness is the Key~

Jayden woke up to a loud thud and an agitated groan. She sat up to see Dark Mist had fallen out of his makeshift hammock and was sprawled out on the floor by her bed groaning in aggravation. Jayden pulled him on her bed to get him off the floor. She checked her clock to see it was 5 o'clock in the morning. So she stretched and started to get ready for her first day of school. Once she was done getting dressed and had her deck, Barian Key, and her book bag with all of her supplies in it, Jayden went downstairs to eat some breakfast and grab her lunch bag. She set off with Dark Mist floating beside her. The Dark Astral like being knows only Jayden can see him at the moment, because of the dark aura he is using to shield himself from any other beings that would possibly see him.

She sometimes wishes that everything could be the way it used to be, but she knew that would be to good to be true. "Dark, do you sometimes miss the Realm of Darkness?" Her question was like a bullet to his chest. "Why would I miss that dreaded place when I've actually met someone who can help me channel my positive emotions? Even if I don't enjoy positivity." Jayden was surprised he'd even care for her that much to say something that terrible about his birthplace. Dark Mist sighed. "Plus Barian wasn't as depressing and it was even better when I met you, it was strange I felt somewhat....caring around you." His words weren't anything like the Dark Mist she knew, but she was happy he was opening up to her. As they were finished with their conversation with each other they arrived at the school just in time. Dark Mist entered the Barian Key to keep out of her way when she would start class.

Jayden's first class of the morning was English after the class was ready to start a boy with red and black spiked hair bursted into the class about 20 minutes late. The teacher didn't ask him why he was late, he just told the boy to take a seat. A few minutes before the bell the boy walked over to Jayden, held his hand out for a handshake and introduced himself. "Hi I'm Yuma Tsukumo! And you are?" His voice was a bit to cheery for her, but nonetheless she shook his outstretched hand. "Jayden Chaos." She responded more calmly than Yuma did when introduced he did. She saw Yuma's Key faintly glowed as did her's in the presence of each other. Dark Mist and Astral noticed this from within the inside of their partner's key.

~Legends speak of a human who dwells in the light and a Barian who dwells in the Darkness will one day cross paths and will have to work together to save each other's world from a truly evil being that only wants to destroy all of the many Realms to create his ideal Kingdom....~
