Hearing the crunch of sticks under my feet was starting to getting infuriating, but I had to get the job done. It had just rain the last couple of days and I was capturing mud on my uniform pants and shoes. The sun was shining through the leaves, and it made little shadows on the ground.

The report that my team and I got today, was to find a missing girl. I've been walking around for hours trying my best to find the smallest hints. Looking around, I finally noticed little shoes in the corner of my eye. "Over here!" I screamed out to get attention. Running over to the little pair of shoes, I picked them up and I could tell that they were still warm. Hearing footsteps coming up behind me, I turn around with a confused look. "They're still warm. She must have just taken them off. We have to find her soon or she might get hyperthermia." After telling them, we took our separate ways to continue looking.

Continuing to walk, I noticed little a foot print in the ground. Kneeling down closer to them, I grabbed the one of the shoes that I kept and noticed that they were similar in size. Furrowing my brow, I looked around to see where the print would lead. Noticing more that lead north, I called for backup. "I found some prints that lead north. I'm going to follow them. Someone follow my lead."

Walking, I started to notice that they were slipping and continued to move faster. Getting to a big marsh, I looked around. Stepping into it looked like it would be too deep for a little girl to stand on her own two feet. This marsh looked like it went on for miles on end. Growing confused, because I noticed that this is where the prints stop."Haliee!" I screamed out. It was starting to get colder out here and I didn't know how much longer she had.

In the distance, I could hear a cry for help. Stopping in my track to look around, I heard the cry again. It sounded like a little girl. Haliee! Looking around more, I saw movement in the water and a hand sticking out. Gasping, I dart towards in and pull her out. Finally, after 26 hours of looking, we've found her. Pulling her into my chest to keep her warm, I walk back towards the camp that we set everything up for the lookout. "I found her. On my way back to bring her home." Looking down at her I notice that she was quietly crying. "Don't worry. I'm going to bring you back home. You're safe now."
