Staying Alive

Running. That's all I was doing to keep me alive. The moaning and groaning was getting louder and louder the closer and closer they came. Looking around to see if I could hide anywhere to keep me from getting eaten alive, all I could find was a little shack that could easily get knocked down by all of the zombies chasing me. Looking back to see if I got rid of any of them, I couldn't see the road I was on anymore. There was that many. Facing forward, I saw some woods about one mile away. Thinking to myself that I could make it, I started to slow down because I was having a hard time breathing. To the corner of my eye, I saw some fallen down trees that I could hide behind.

Hiding behind the trunks, I checked to see how much ammo I had left in my gun and how many arrows for my bow. I had about ten bullets left, plus the ones in my pocket, which was about ten more, I think I had enough to kill most of these things. Plus I had about fifteen arrows. I think this will get me somewhere. Staying low, I turned around and started screwing my silencer on the barrel of the gun to keep it quiet when I shoot. After I caught my breath, I got to work.

Looking right at my target, I aimed and shot. I watched as it when down with one bullet. I silently cheered in my head has I aimed for the next one. Killing them was really easy, if you know where to aim for. With them walking it was much harder to get a good aim but if you had it, you got it. Deciding to switch to my bow and arrow, I quickly looked for the closest target. I smiled to myself when I found it and quickly let the arrow fly. Looking amazed with myself, I saw three of them go down at the same time. Grabbing another arrow, I did the same exact thing and another three went down. Looking around, there was less than what there was before, so I started to run again to see if I could get rid of them for as long as I can.

I finally found safety in a little house about a couple miles away. Walking up to the porch, I quickly went to the window to see if anything was inside. After not seeing anything, I went to the door and opened it to get inside. Closing the door back, I went and collected some heavy things to put in front of the door so nothing could get in. Feeling comfortable with myself I went to the couch that was in the corner of the room and settled down to get some well needed sleep.

Waking up the next morning, I hear knocking and moaning up against the front door. Just my luck, waking up hearing that just makes my day.
