I feel like I should start putting the fandom these are from in here, so I'm going to go back and do that later. For now, this is One-Punch Man.

"We should go out tonight."
(Y/N) has to take a second and examine the number on the caller ID, confusion pulling her eyebrows together at the confirmation. "Are you ok?" she asks, lifting the phone back to her ear as her brother groans in annoyance on the other end.
"Shut up," Sonic bites. "I know we're both off and we haven't just hung out together in a while. So I figured why not? I have nothing better to do."
"And this isn't part of some mission?" she asks, earning another groan from Sonic. "Nothing's going to blow up? No fights?"
"I'm going to hang up and I'm going to bed," he deadpans, pulling around of laughter from (y/n) in response. "I just want to hang with my sister for a little while. Is that so much to ask?"
"Alright, alright, I'm just messing around," she assures, pushing herself off the couch and stretching. "I'll be ready in fifteen minutes."
"I'll be there in ten."
"That's not-" The line is cut before Minori can finish, so she sighs defeatedly and starts for her bedroom. "That's not what I said. . ."

When Sonic first arrived, the two couldn't figure out what to do. Since they don't really do anything but lay around at (y/n)'s place when they're together, they aren't really sure what normal sibling outings are supposed to look like. (Y/N) suggested they do what she normally does with her friends, which mainly consists of drunken karaoke and a movie, but Sonic understandably shut that idea down. So they decide to stick with a simple outing that both of them like.
Target practice and a quick run around the city.
"You're pretty bad at this, bro," (Y/N) teases, watching his shuriken fly past the target entirely once he backs up to the three thousand yard line. "I thought you were supposed to be-"
Sonic lifts a shuriken to her line of sight, glaring in warning from the side of his eye. "Say one more word," he dares, watching as his sister lifts her hands in mock surrender. "One more. That's all I need." She smiles teasingly and mimics zipping her lips, earning a roll of the eyes from her brother as he lowers the weapon. "Besides," he goes on, "it's not like you can do any better at this distance."
(Y/N)'s eyebrow slides up and her hands lower. "That sounds like a challenge," she sings.
"It's not," he explains. "It's a statement of fact."
Her eyebrow slides higher and she leans forward, snagging the shuriken from her brother's hand and taking aim. With a simple flick of the wrist, the shuriken disappears from her hand and reappears a few seconds later, half buried in the target at the three thousand yard mark. Sonic frowns deeply at the sight and sends another glare in his sister's direction, irritated to find her already smirking at him.
"My specialty is weaponry, Big Brother," she reminds smugly. "I've hit smaller targets from longer distances."
Another knife appears in his hands. "Shut the fuck up," he growls. "I mean it. I will kill you."
(Y/N) holds her hands up again, but her smirk still remains. "I think we've had enough target practice," she changes topics. "What's say we run that lap and hit a bar. I could use a shot of something."
Sonic rolls his eyes, but does replace the knife in his pouch. "Fine," he relents angrily. "We have thirty minutes to complete one lap," he explains, though they've had the same rules ever since they were kids. "Last one back buys the other one food for a month."
An eyebrow rises at the statement. "It was a week last time," she reminds, causing a smirk to grow on Sonic's face.
"That's because I wasn't confident last time," he says. "I know I can kick your ass now."
She scoffs and takes her mark. "Whatever," she retorts. "Get ready jackass."
Sonic rolls his eyes and does as told. "Ready?"
"Set."
"Go!"
In a blink, the two are gone, racing down the hill toward the city faster than even (y/n) knew she could accomplish. She relies mainly on weapons and stealth, after all. So speed is definitely her brother's territory. She's surprised she can actually get this fast to start with.
Past the housing areas to the shopping districts, Sonic pulls ahead, finally pouring on the speed once they hit a straightaway. (Y/N) swears violently as she tries to up her speed in an alley she thought would be a shortcut, only to end up the broadside of a wooden block to the center of her face. She hits the ground and skids farther into the alley from momentum, groaning audibly once she fully stops.
"We need to talk."
Another groan, this one from annoyance instead of pain, pushes through her core and she sits up, ignoring the throbbing pain her skinned arm gives in protest. "I told you no," she reminds through a forced laugh, lifting an arm to wipe her bleeding nose on the back of her hands. "There are things even I won't do for money. The fact that you ignored my no means I have every right to kick your ass."
"Violence isn't necessary," the rejected employer assures, though his tone doesn't say as much. "We just want to talk. In fact, if you talk with me now, my men-"
"Your men what?"
(Y/N) turns as the employer shifts his gaze behind her, both pairs of eyes landing on an clearly annoyed Sonic standing a few yards behind her. Not that she didn't notice, of course, but it is surprising when he actually interjects into her problems.
The employer's energy shifts threateningly, and (y/n) relaxes, already seeing the same relaxation ease into her brother's core. It may be time to fight. "This doesn't concern you," he states, causing Sonic to raise a challenging eyebrow. "Leave and we'll act like this never happened."
He's scared and both siblings can tell. In fact, they can probably go as far as saying he probably doesn't have any men waiting for them anywhere. Even if he did, they'd obviously be no match for Sonic and (y/n). The siblings exchange a look and Sonic folds his arms, leaning his shoulder casually against the building beside him. "Seeing how she is my sister," Sonic starts just as casually, "I'll wait for her."
She smirks faintly at the words and glances back at the employer, a few signs of distress clear on his face. He shifts his gaze nervously between the siblings for a few moments, then sighs and turns in defeat. "We will talk (y/n)," he states darkly. "I-"
"Will end up dead if you finish that sentence," Sonic finishes, appearing behind him and pressing a kunai knife against his throat. "I'd suggest just leaving quietly, or I can silence you. Your choice."
The man hesitates for a moment, the nods slowly, his body stiff as a board as Sonic removes the knife and allows him to walk away. He doesn't look back as he does.
"Wow Sonic," the younger sister starts, her tone only half as sarcastic as it normally is at this point of the day, "if I didn't actually know you, I could've sworn you actually cared about my wellbeing as a sibling."
Sonic rolls his eyes at the statement and turns, allowing his arm to fall across her shoulders as he guides her out of the alley. "You're still my younger sister," he reminds, his own tone more gentle than it usually is. "So yes, I do somewhat mind what happens to you."
"Only somewhat?"
"I can still kill you myself."
