Hello everyone!

I'm sorry but I'm going to have to write this quickly so please bare with me.

This took place roughly during my sophomore of college and I did not want to stay in the college dorm at all. That's when I decided to check Craig's List for any potential ads for apartments. My parents refused to let me stay in an apartment alone or sign any leases. That's when I stumbled upon an ad from a girl named Veronica Mercedes. I quickly clicked on the ad when I read she went to my university. The ad read;

Hi my name is Veronica!

My friend recently backed out of my lease and need a roommate or my landlord will evict me. Please respond quickly before I start back up college I really need hear back ASAP. If interested email me or respond back to this directly.

Of course I was going to be responding to this ad. Eventually time passes and times for me to meet Veronica my parents, brother and I packed up the car. I watched the the trees and leaves pass by me as my parents drove me to the sophomore year of college. We reached the apartment and it looked like a nice apartment honestly. My parents decided to go inside with before unloading my stuff into the new apartment. We walk up the rickety stairs the apartment was at least 40 years old. The doors were eroding and the apartment numbers were peeling from the doors and I could feel my mom's eyes beating down on me. I could tell what my mom was going to say.

"I told you!" I could hear my mother's voice echoing in my voice.

I finally saw Veronica's apartment and it's numbers were peeling more than others I can hardly read the number 543. I knocked on the door was also moist as if there was some sort of stale mist from the apartment inside. My brother, Tommy, being the fearless one knocked on the door.

After a few minutes of waiting the door slowly creaked open and a girl who was dressed like Wednesday Addams. The only difference was instead of the girl had pastel pink hair instead of raven black hair. She was meek and acted like a mouse.

"Hi, I'm June!" I finally mustered up the courage to speak. She frightened me and I didn't necessarily know why. "Are you my roommate, Veronica?"

"Ve," she corrected me, her voice was monotone and very drawn out.

"Huh? What did you say?" I asked.

"Please call me Ve," the monotone voice she spoke with freaked me out and I whipped my head around to face my parents.

"Ve, these are my parents Allan and Morena, and my brother, Tommy," I said. "They're going to help me move in, that okay?"

Ve nodded, slowly. As if she was nodding in a monotone tone.

On the long walk back to the car my parents voiced their concern of me living in the dingy apartment with this bizarre girl called, "Ve." I reassured my parent that everything would be fine and they had no reason to worry after all I had my best friend Anna to run too. Anna was always there for me and I knew that if Ve had any funny business Anna's boyfriend is a cop so he can help.

My parents were still reluctant to let me stay alone with this girl who've only contacted through Craigslist. Tommy tried to convince me that this girl is a murderer who only posted that ad there to lure young girls like me. Ignored him, and for the first couple of weeks everything was going smoothly we weren't the best of friends but we weren't necessarily enemies either.

Then the weird stuff started happening. It was my second week of living Ve and I was slow of taking my boxes that I was unpacking my stuff from move-in. That's when one day I walked into the apartment and Ve was sitting in the living room watching the local news on TV. That's when I walked into the hallway to put my backpack into my bedroom after a long day of classes. That's when I song that the hallway was all lined with cardboard boxes that were all labelled in my handwriting, June's Stuff. These were the boxes that were once in my bedroom and I was confused and frankly freaked out. Who had been in my bedroom?

I quickly ran from the hallway and back into the living room and dropped my backpack in the hallway with the loud THUD. I saw Ve still sitting in the living room watching the TV unnerved by the thud that bag had made before. Had she been in my bedroom?

"Ve?" I said. "Were you in my bedroom?"

"Why do you ask, June?"

"What makes you think that?" Ve asked, in the same monotone voice that still sends shivers down my spine.

"The boxes from my move are all in the hallway and I didn't put them there," I said.

Ve slowly craned her neck to face me it seemed like all of her moves were monotone, as if she was robotic girl trying to pass as something human. "Oh, thought you'd like some help sorry for the disruption," she continued to say. "Recyclings downstairs the landlord doesn't like if you miss a day of recycling."

I started taking boxes downstairs freaked out about Ve's actions why was she really in my room I will never know. This still something that haunts me to this day.

That's not all that happened while I lived with Ve. She would always watch me while I lived my daily life. She was always there when I ate my breakfast did my homework and had friends over. I was okay and managed to brush all of those things off since we live with each other. Thing's started getting weird when she started following me around my college campus. My friends would recognize Ve with her pastel pink off in the distance and when I turn around to watch Ve would quickly dart away into the pushes, get lost in a group of people or just continue watching.

My friend, Anna, deducted that Ve was a stalker. "You have to go to the university, June, I'm worried about you."

"I'm her roommate and I have nowhere else to stay," I said, "What am I supposed to do?" Anna's boyfriend helped me file a restraining order against Ve with the university only to find out there is no students there enrolled with the name Veronica Mercedes and then called the police.

When the police arriveid at Ve's and my apartment it was completely vacant aside from my furniture. The police are currently for Ve but have no luck I urge you if you run into anyone named Veronica Mercedes please contact the police.

I'll try to update you as much as I can.

Thanks,

June Polley.
