Chapter 4

"Oh God, and she was just sitting there, refusing to move! It was hilarious!"

Lindsay, Christina's cousin, was sitting on the opposite side of the booth from me, telling me a funny story about how her friend from work split her pants, and wouldn't move because everyone would laugh at her. Lindsay and I hit it off immediately, probably because we are close in age; Lindsay is only 23.

I excused myself from the table, and headed over to the bar to grab a drink. I'm in a great mood, and after I have a drink or 2 I'm going to drag someone over to the dance floor with me.

"Hey there, gorgeous, what can I get you? It's on the house." The cute bartender smiled at me, waiting for me to choose a drink. Normally when bartenders flirt with me I find it creepy, but this guy doesn't give me that vibe at all. I order some fruity drink that Christina told me to get, and watch as he mixes the different types of alcohol into my drink, before handing it to me, and sticking a little umbrella into it.

"So, you from around here? I haven't seen you around here before."

"Uh, no I'm not," I smile, "I just moved here from Florida for work." We continue to make small talk for a few minutes, before I walk away in search of a dance partner. I stand in the middle of nowhere, and do a 360 of the room, before my eyes land on the man from the plane. Not the annoying old guy, I'm talking about the hot, young guy that was laughing at me from a few rows ahead. Using all the confidence I got from the alcohol, I saunter up to said hot guy, placing my drink on the bar next to him.

"Remember me?" I flash him my most flirty smile. "Ah, sassy girl from the plane. Nice to see you again."

"You too. So, what are you doing here?"  I notice the music changing, and the song 'undressed' starts playing. I love this song.

"Oh, uh, I'm meeting my aunty here. There this girl she wants me to meet." I don't listen to any of what he's saying.

"Oh yeah," I nod along, "I love this song. We should dance." I grab his hand and start dragging him towards the dance floor. He places his glass on the bar, chuckling lightly as he lets me lead him to the dance floor.

We stand in the middle of the dance floor, cramped between sweaty bodies, me slowly swaying my hips from side to side. After us being shy for a few moments, I turn around and he places his hands on my hips, leading my movements. We get lost in the music, dancing together without a single care in the world. The song continues to change, and people come and go from the dance floor, but we just keep dancing. I lay my head on his shoulder and whisper in his ear.

"I need to get back to my group. They are probably wondering where I am."

We say goodbye, and I learn that his name is Harry. When I make it back to my table, I sit down next to Christina, sipping the drink I just got on my way back to the table.

"Oh, Anna, my nephew is here. Let me grab him. He isn't much older than you, love."

Christina scurries off in search of Harry, and I make small talk with Jack and one of his work colleges.

"Anna, meet Harry." I turn around to see Christina wrapping her arm around my dance partner. Wait... Harry is her nephew?

After re-introducing ourselves, Harry slides into the seat next to me with a smile on his face. "So, you're the girl that's going be living with us?" I nod shyly, trying to sip up the drops of drink from my glass. "Here, have mine. You look thirsty." Harry hands me his drink, and I thank him before taking a small sip. It takes a few more sips before I get used to the taste of the new drink, my throat eventually getting used the burn that comes along with each sip.

There is no more conversing between the 2 of us, but I catch him watching me whilst he talks to Christina, but I shrug it off, sparking up conversation with Lindsay. This night has been... interesting.
