She ran to her local store to grab pregnancy tests that day. On her way she gave John a call. She sounded shaky and nervous, causing John to become worried and ready to go. Getting to the store, Anna grabbed a few tests and asked the young clerk where the bathroom was.

Running into the bathroom, she did what she had to and all three tests read positive.

"I'm pregnant. I'm having a baby-" Not knowing fully how to react, Anna wakes out of the bathroom throwing all of the tests away. Walking up to the counter a bit wobbly like, she asked for a water before collapsing onto the cold floor. Maybe the lack of food these past few days and the over whelming news she couldn't take it. The man across the counter ran to her side and called 9-1-1 immediately.

Anna woke up a few hours later in her hospital bed. Her eyes hung heavy and her stomach growled for food.

"Hey baby girl. Take it easy okay." Anna turned her head to see John sitting next to her holding he hand.

"Y-you came-" She spoke quietly because of dry throat.

"Of course. I drop everything for my children." John rested his hand over Anna's belly. "So you're really pregnant?" He asked.

"That's what the tests said-" She spoke but then was interrupted by a faint knock.

"Look who's up? How are you feeling Anna?" The doctor came around and check my vitals and IV.

"Okay, just a little groggy and hungry." You gave a small chuckle and John handed you a cup of water from the side table.

"Well, you seemed to have passed out from dehydration and lack of food. You do know your feeding for two now don't you?" He smiled looking directly at Anna.

"Just found out a few days ago. Been having morning sickness, couldn't keep anything down."

"We can help with that. Just a bit more fluids in your system and you're all set to leave. Just stop by the prenatal floor to grab your vitamins and set up your first appointment."

"Thanks Doc." John stood up and shook the hand of the doctor before he left.

"I guess we're having a baby. But I understand if you can't stay. You have a family of your own, we are hunters. Can't really escape that life." Anna slumped down and drug her hands through her hair.

"I can't stay. But I will come around when you call. I want to be apart of my child's life but one thing." John sighed and grabbed ahold of Anna's hands.

"Anything, anything John!" She squeezed them in excitement.

"Quit the life. Not many can do that, me for that matter. But you can. Raise our child in a life without monsters. Make him or her slightly normal. Please, I already have my boys in the life, growing up with it. Just promise me you will never get back into it." John pleaded with Anna. The fear and longing in his eyes was completely visible.

The tears began to slowly fall from Anna's face. "I promise John. I will leave the life. Our baby will be normal if you wanna call it that. I promise." John brought his hands up to Anna's cheeks and wiped her tears away before kissing her forehead.

They both spent a few more hours in the hospital before Anna was released to go home. John drove her back to the small store to grab her car and they drove back to Anna's house.

John pulled up behind Anna and jumped out of his car to grab her door. She grabbed his hand as he pulled her out.

"You make sure you call me. I want updates on how you and our baby is growing. Please, I want to be as involved as I can be." John kissed Anna's forehead and held her close to his chest. She soaked in the small of cheap shampoo, sweat, and leather.
