Crossroads

Chapter Seven

"I called Matt while I was in costume just to greet him for his birthday", Emma told him as they sat in his veranda, having finished lunch, and deciding to just watch the sea.

It's become a sort of habit for both of them since mending their friendship.

They meet very early in the morning to get breakfast, catching up on all the years they had no communication by regaling each other with stories and anecdotes of what they were up to while they lived a life that did not involve the other.

They began with talking about projects they've taken up since leaving "Hogwarts" and Emma decided to talk to him now about one of her latest projects – the reason she's in the US and preparing to go on a "hurricane" press tour soon.

Tom chuckled because he knew about this particular story. "I remember him talking about that. He said he almost screamed when he saw you."

Emma raised a brow in challenge. "What ALMOST?!? He did scream!"

"He screamed?!?"

Her eyes shined shrewdly. "It was more like squealing."

"That lying twat!"

It was her turn to laugh. "He even asked me to twirl in the dress for him and if I could get "Lefou" in for a picture."

Well, he couldn't blame Matt for that. "I would have asked you to do the same if you had called me too. It would have really brightened up my day."

"I swear, I feel like I have known you guys almost all of my life but I still cannot fathom how it escaped me that you are all such Disney fanboys."

"We hid our stash of disney movies when you girls went up our rooms and pretended it was porn so you'd never touch it."

She shook her head at him disbelievingly at this, possibly thinking back on all the times any of the boys claimed a particular drawer contained porn.

"So, who is your favorite princess?", she refocused on the topic.

"Belle, of course."

"Oh! So you and Matt both", she exclaimed.

He sneered. "He only started to like Belle because of me. Matt's actually a Jasmine fanboy."

"JASMINE?!?"

"Yes! Jasmine! Matt likes her because of her eyes", he then went on to reveal details of the other's favorites, "Dan likes Ariel because of that red hair. Rup likes Aurora because he thinks they'll have fun just sleeping if they get together. Or more of him having fun just sleeping. Al likes Mulan because he actually wants to adopt Mushu, her mini dragon. James and Oliver don't like any of the Disney princesses the way we do but they actually like Anastasia and Odette."

She stared at him – wide eyed.

"Oh and Devon likes Alice because she's trippy", he added before Emma could even get a word in.

"WOW! ARE YOU SERIOUS?!?! How come you know so much about disney princesses."

He smirked. "I don't mean to brag but yes, I'm quite the expert. I bet you I can sing all of Belle's lines in Beauty and the Beast RIGHT NOW."

Emma threw her head back in laughter. "Thank God you did not audition for Belle then!"

"If Jade had not stopped me, you better believe I would have."

SHITE! Tom thought to himself as the words escaped his mouth.

They've been able to successfully avoid talking about Jade and the breakup for the past two days since their "reconciliation".
