No one's POV
"Scientist?" Uta asked confused, "What Scientist?"
Lily tensed up, quickly realizing that she hadn't told her dearest friend about what FULLY happened a few weeks ago. The only thing she told him was that she ran into Doves and had to fight to get her and Misaki as far from there as possible, and left it at that. She sighed and turned to Uta with sad expression. You know about when me and Misaki ran into the Doves?" She asked and Uta nodded. "Well I didn't really tell you the whole story."
Uta made a face of slight hurt but motioned for her to continue. "Well," she started, "The Kagune that the Doves had belonged to Misaki's biological parents. The sight turned my stomach in so much disgust that these people are hunting ghouls and taking the only thing they have to protect themselves to not only fight other ghouls, but to use them as bait for their friends or family." Uta was about to tell her that she was getting off topic but shut right up when she added, "I HATE WORKING FOR THESE PEOPLE!!!! ALL THEY DO IS HUNT DOWN INNOCENT PEOPLE, KILLING THEM WHILE THE REAL MONSTERS RUN FREE!!!! AND THEY THINK I'M A FREAK FOR BELIEVEING THAT THERE ARE GOOD GHOULS WHO NEED OUR PROTECTION?!?!" Uta couldn't take it and hugged her tight as tears streamed down her face. "You can't even go out in brad daylight because of your eyes.
"It's fine Lily, but your getting off topic." Uta told her breaking the hug and wiping her tears from her cheeks.
She sniffles and takes a deep breath to calm down and continued, "Well you know me. I was able to make a psychic link with the kagune and was able to wake up the ghouls they belonged to. Normally they would have just fought with me. But this was far different this time. They broke free from their handles and attached themselves to my skin. After not only nocking out the Doves and convincing the Kagune to NOT kill them. Me and Misaki ran and ended up at a scientists house. There he told me on house he was studying ways on how to make the average ghoul able to fully blend in to human society. While keeping their natural genetics, they would be able to eat human food, survive longer without human flesh. Practically hide the fact that their ghouls for successfully. When he told me he wanted me to use me as e test subject, I shot him down completely. But him and the kagune had other ideas. With their help the scientist was able to hold me down and inject me with his prototype."
But what I don't understand is why have a Human be a test something related to ghouls?" Uta asked.
"Maybe he couldn't tell I was human because he was one himself. And just made an assumption that I was because I had Misaki with me." Lily stated and Uta nodded.
"Well do you want to go back and see if he can fix this?" Uta questioned.
"I highly doubt he thought of a reversal. Plus he would most likely not be there, with Doves sniffing around he most likely to have moved his work." Lily said, "Besides, I don't really mind this change. It kind of pulls me closer to Misaki, and it'll help me understand what she would be going through as she grows older."
Uta nods and takes her hand. "C'mon. Lets patch you up and get you home. If Misaki wakes up and your not home, she'll throw a fit." he exclaimed making Lily laugh.

Lily POV
It was now the next day and I'm stuck here at work. When I woke up my shoulder had fully healed as if nothing had ever happened. Which I am grateful for. That would have been a huge pain in the ass to explain to my superior why there was a gaping hole in me and why I never reported a ghoul attack.
"Is Dr. Jones here?!" I heard someone call. I turn around and see the very young man that took away Misaki's parents along with his absent partner. Looking around my lab like an idiot since I was the only one here.
"You're looking at her. What do ya want?" I snapped at him. I hate it when these meat heads come looking for me.
He looks at me dumb struck looking at me up and down. I'll admit I don't really LOOK like a scientist myself. (Didn't see that coming did ya? lol) There two reasons for that. Reason 1. Most of the scientists here are MALE, and as the only female here I HARDLY leave my lab and make close to zero contact with my coworkers. The only time I come out is when I have to report my project progress. Reason 2. I don't dress like a scientist. Every time someone comes in to interrupt me, I'm found to always wear something reveling. Today, I'm wearing booty cut off blue jean booty shorts, a crop top that barely holds my over sized chest, and stiletto heels.
"Speak Dove!" I shouted snapping him out of his shock.
"O-oh. My apologies for staring. I've come to give you these." He walks over to me and hands me a file and a note book. "These were apprehended from a surgical doctor who was experimenting transplants of ghoul organs into human subjects."
"How many human subjects are we talking about here?" I asked flipping threw the doctor's notes.
"Well over a hundred. It appears with our investigation that the doctor was working underground for most of his experiments but we don't know how many people he had done this too when they came to him for medical help." Explained the Dove.
"Says here that almost all of his experiments rather rejected the organs instantly or the other way around over a three day time period. Resulting in a large number of failure. Only one survived with the organs running as if they were their originals. Sadly though none of the experiments' short files include gender, age, or even information on if they were people enlisted into his care for medical treatment or if they were random drunks or homeless people he found." I stated as I tossed his file and notes on my work bench.
"So there is a person walking around with dirty organs?" The man before me asked, it took my all not to hit him for that thick headed comment.
"Yes. Though I don't have the slightest clue is to what might come from having ghoul organs in a human host. They might adapt into the ghoul's life style and can no longer enjoy the everyday life they had before, or they could remain the same and not provide any threat." I explained. "Now if that is all you need of my professional opinion I would like to get back to work now."
"Yes, thank you ma'am." he respectfully nods his head and rushes out of my lab.
I turn back to the notes and open it once more to the last page where I find the WHOLE profile of the last test subject. I may have fibbed a little about what the book contained. But honestly this was just a medical file that was stuffed in after the surgeon wrote down that it was a complete success. And clearly copied their medical file so he could follow the progress in his act of god. I pulled out the extra page and slid it into my bra, thanking god that these people never put cameras in the labs due to risks on what we really do here. Hell we only use the computers to fill out small projects, bigger ones are hand written. "I may hate this job. But to protect Uta, Misaki, and other innocent ghouls. It's a nessasery upper hand." I think to myself.
After I heaved a heavy sigh my phone begins to buzz in my back pocket. I pull it out and see that it was Uta calling me. "Hello?" I answer after placing the phone to my ear.
"Hey Lily, You almost done with work for today?" he asked.
"Yeah I just need to put the last sample in the fridge and I'll be heading out. Why?" I replied.
"Cool. Meet me and Misaki at the bar, we've got a surprise for you." Uta said.
"Why the hell are you bringing my kid to a bar??" I asked rather annoyed.
"Secret. BYE!!" and with that he hung up.
He is SO dead!!
