No, that's an understatement.

Her brain hurt.

"Winnie, wait!" He reached out towards her. His hand caught the back of her shirt.

"Let go of me." She whispered. "Get out of here." She yanked free of his grip.

No sooner had she ran inside and slammed her bedroom door, he was gone. She slid down the corner of the wall and plopped down on the floor. It was cold against her skin. Tears leaked from her eyes.

Don't do this to yourself Winnie.

He's just a boy.

But he wasn't just a boy. He was her boy. And like all things she love, he left her.
