Present Day – De Luxa Apartment Lobby

"Ugh!" Blake growled, tossing her phone into her bag with a fierce flick of her wrist.

"What's up Blakey?" Yang called from across the room, breaking into a sprint. The girls had grown to be successful adults, with Blake being the editor for the newest bestselling author and Yang taking her mother's place as the family sorceress. Upon reaching the chair opposite Blake, she jumped onto it playfully, flipping herself to hang upside down from the chair's front. "How'd the date go?"

"Horribly."

"Yeesh, what is that now, six guys? Maybe dating just ain't your thing. What happened this time?"

"The guy was good-looking, in the conventional sense, and was a Faunus too. I thought he was cool, until halfway through the date, he began to rant about how 'we should solve the Faunus inequality problem by killing those in charge'. Not only that, he compared my ears to some anime or something!" Blake sniffled, "I just looked it up, and apparently it's one of those adult-rated ones!"

"Ah, hence the angry phone throw. I tried to tell ya, you can never trust anyone named Adam. Remember that guy who messed up our order at McDust that one time?" Yang prodded, "You know, the one next to the Valkyrie Pancake Emporium?"

"How do you remember that?" Blake chuckled, "That was years ago!"

"He cheated me out of my chicken fries, you don't cheat me out of my chicken fries and live to see the next day!" Yang snarled.

"It was only one! I could have bought you more!" Blake began to laugh harder, now clutching her stomach. "Didn't you almost set him on fire?"

"Yeah, if it weren't for that other blonde guy slipping and knocking him down. Luckily the guy was carrying a lighter, so it looked like the fire was his fault."

The two laughed for a few minutes before finally calming down, with Blake's eyes returning to a sullen state. "At least this is the first time I turned a guy down, instead of the other way around."

"Yeah seriously, I still don't get that! Why do guys line up for me, but a beauty like you gets nobody!" Yang pouted, "I'm not interested in getting some guy to come in and take over my place as top dog in my house!"

"Wait, even if they don't use magic, they still count as your superior?" Blake asked.

"Yep, pretty old-fashioned. Been that way for hundreds of years I'm afraid, but that won't stop you from getting the date of your dreams!" Yang cheered, "How about this, I can teach you how to get guys to like you!"

"Really? You'd do that?" Blake was in awe – she'd never gotten this offer from anyone, let along someone as busy as Yang.

"Yup! Let's start right now, actually! Up to your room!"
