Several Months Later
With every passing day, Blake's feelings for Yang increased bit by bit, like a little snowball rolling down a mountain. It wasn't until the snowball had become an avalanche that Blake was hit with the realization; she loved Yang, and wanted desperately for Yang to love her back.
Blake teetered nervously on the bar stool, off-beat from the music playing overhead. Yang was to meet her today for some training with actual guys, some that Yang brought, and some complete strangers. Blake drew circles on the bar with her finger slowly, unsure of how to tell Yang how she felt. She could go for the all-in approach and kiss her out of the blue, but that could fail miserably.
"Blake, over here!" A familiar voice rang from the far side of the bar, causing Blake to suddenly swivel in her seat, nearly spilling the drink of the woman next to her. She got up and walked over to where Yang was standing. Once she got close, she realized that Yang's hair was sopping wet, and she didn't look too happy.
"What's wrong?"
"The guy I brought saw a broad and ditched me outside the bar, and it's pouring out there. Not exactly how I planned this would go." Yang sighed and began to wring out her hair into a nearby bucket. "Anyways, ready to go?"
"Actually, could we talk somewhere private first? I have something I really need to ask you." Blake muttered. Yang silently nodded and brought the Faunus around the bar and out the back entrance, into a thin alleyway.
"This place is usually staff-only, but I know the owner. What's up?"
Even in the dim light and rain from above, Blake could still see Yang's violet eyes shining from under her mottled hair, a quality she'd always admired. "Well, the thing is..."
"You can tell me anything, I swear." Yang interrupted, "Whatever it is, I won't tell anyone else. You know how gossipy I can be, but these lips are sealed."
"Well, do you remember the pact we made in the forest? About my firstborn being yours?" Blake asked, "No matter who I found as a partner, my firstborn would go right to you?"
"Right, the one my mom wouldn't let me negate because of some strict law or something. What about it?"
Tears began to well in Blake's eyes, their heat differing from the chilled rain water above. "Yang, I don't want to have a kid with someone else. I know nobody will be right for me-"
"Blake, honey, we'll find someone. Don't worry about it!" Yang said, placing a hand on Blake's shoulder.
"I wasn't finished." Blake said sternly, "Nobody will be right for me... except you Yang. I love you!"
Yang froze, taken aback by her childhood friend's words – she had never noticed how much Blake had cared for her, but the memories in her head seemed to shift to a new color: one of love. "Oh Blake, I love you too!"
The Faunus looked up, tears overflowing from her eyes. "Really? Do you mean it?"
"Of course I do, after all, I'm not much into guys anyways." Yang chuckled. Blake thrust herself against the blonde, standing on her tiptoes to do so. Their lips clashed, a kiss that would seal their newest pact of love, but it felt strange to Blake. She's read that kisses were electric, but she could not feel any tingle or shocks, just the smoothness of Yang's lips and the taste of her cherry lipstick. Despite the relative senselessness of the kiss, it sent waves of relief through Blake's body as the two embraced tighter in the pouring rain, the raindrops now bouncing off of one, singular mass rather than two.
"When I said that I wanted your firstborn child, I wasn't expecting this." Yang smirked, "But I'm glad it turned out this way."
"I am too."
