Chapter 4 - Choices

Luna's  pov

I woke up recapping last night.I still couldn't believe that Jace was like that. He seemed like such a sweet guy. I thought to myself, Maybe this is all just a dream, a sad dream, but a dream. I got dressed in my robes and fastened my tie. i walked out of the dormitory and skipped down to breakfast. I heard someone call my name. "Luna, Luna come back" I heard a girls voice. I didn't turn back. Shes gonna ask me about Jace, I just know it. ''Luna, Please Luna" I heard her running up to me. she grabbed my shoulder, turned me around, and it wasn't a girl from the dorms, not even a Ravenclaw.

It was Ginny. She looked at me with confusion. "Whats up, Is it the Nargles" She said. I looked down at my shoes, I didnt want to tell her about Jace, The girls screaming, The boys making fun of Jace. I didnt want her to know. I replied softly "nothing, just a bit hungry" Ginny giggled. She started skipping towards the great hall and I followed her. I saw a guy walk into the great hall. Before he fully turned he turned around and started straight at Ginny. I saw her cheeks reddening as he continued to stare. He quickly glanced away and continued walking into the great hall. Ginny shook her head.

"His name is Sam mascauire" she said softly. She looked like she loathed him, but deep down she had some feelings I think. I laughing and skipped into the great hall. I told Ginny I'd see her later. She walked over to the Gryffindor table and I went over to the Ravenclaw table. I ate some breakfast and started at the Gryffindor table. I noticed Ginny, she wasn't eating though. She just kept buttering her toast until eventually you could hear her gasp. She dropped the toast. I started giggling. Sam was sitting right next to her.

Her face lit up with a dreamy red color. He kept talking to her. She got up and walked out of the great hall. I was laughing really hard until I felt a small tapping on my shoulder. I turned around and it was Jace. He looked at me with his dark eyes. I told him with sass "doesn't your guy friends need to say something, like I don't know, who are you gonna be snoggling next" I looked down to the table and avoided eye contact. He didn't say anything after that. He walked away and I could hear pounding laughs from the boys. I rolled my eyes and left for my first class.

The day started out super boring until I got to my third class. I sat down in defense against the dark arts when a different guy sat down next to me. He held out his hand and said "hi, I'm Hunter Ripley" he smiled at me. I held out my hand and shook his. "Luna Lovegood" I said. He looked at me "Did you call yourself Lucky Luna" he said staring at me. I sighed, I couldn't believe that people were still spreading that name around. I replied with a no and said it was because of Jace. I was expecting him to say something like "he's cool isn't he" or "I wish I was more like him" but all Hunter said was "That guys a jerk" I was startled.

"Ripely, Lovegood, Stop yapping, turn to chapter three in your defensive magical theory." Professor Lockhart said with a smile on his face. He never stopped smiling. I got through the rest of the day with Ripley and Jace. I didn't talk to Jace but he sat next to me in a lot of our classes. I ignored him. I sat down for dinner in the great hall later that evening and saw Ginny with sam still next to her. I saw Hermoine laughing next to her. I heard Jace say next to me "Luna talk to me, please" i looked at him like he was crazy. The emotion boiled inside "why should I, I'm not yours Jace, I was never yours, we were just friends if you even call it that" then I walked away.
