MINUS THE MACBOOK IN THAT PHOTO BC WTF-

(y/n) lay in bed, staring at the ceiling while her radio played karma chameleon from her bedside table. her window was open, curtains fluttering as the summer breeze blew in.

usually she longed for these nights. she'd be out with her polaroid camera, cycling around derry and taking picture after picture.

so why wasn't she outside now?

because of richie fucking tozier.

ever since the quarry earlier that day, all she'd been able to think about was the loudmouthed boy.

she'd seen him around school before, getting beat up by that asshole bowers.

but something was different today.

she had noticed the way that his face lit up when he told an unfunny joke, it was as if he didn't have a care in the world, as if he was the freest person alive. she had noticed the large brown doe eyes behind his glasses, how they sparkled with mischief. she had just noticed him

and it set her stomach on fire, in the best way possible.

but with her parents not exactly in the picture, (y/n) didn't have time for stupid lovesick antics.

(y/n)'s parents were gone.

she didn't know where they had gone to or why they had left.

one day she woke up and the house was silent, no laughing coming from the kitchen, no sound of bacon being fried, nothing.

walking downstairs she had found an envelope filled with hundred dollar bills. one hundred hundred dollar bills to be exact. a note was next to the envelope.

we are sorry. we know you can make it on your own.

the words echoed in her mind each day.

sorry for what? how do you know that i can do it myself?

the words made her want to cry and scream.

she just wanted them back.

it had been a year since they had left, and (y/n) knew that the money wouldn't last forever.

she still had plenty left, and had budgeted accordingly, but she was realistic.

strangely enough, no one had asked questions.

but with all of the disappearances and how people had seemed to stop acknowledging them, she had come to the realisation that no one gave a damn. and it broke her heart.

sighing, she slowly sat up and grabbed her camera.

it was nearly sunset and she could get a few decent shots.

hopping on her bike, her camera safely around her neck, (y/n) set off back to the quarry.

that was her favourite spot for sunset photos.

cycling through the town, (y/n) felt peaceful.

the warm summer breeze smelt like blossoms and wrapped around her as if it were a blanket. everything just seemed so perfect.

once she made it to the quarry, she dropped her bike and walked to the edge of the cliff, exactly where she had stood before she'd jumped off earlier.

oh shit. i forgot about bowers.

panic rose as she thought about the beating she would the next day. it wasn't as if she couldn't defend herself, she was simply outnumbered.

shaking away her thoughts, she pulled her camera up to her eye.

the sky had finally turned into warm hues. the rosy pinks and bright oranges casting a beautiful light over the water.

it was breathtaking.

so (y/n) decided to put her camera down and sit at the edge, perhaps this sunset was one that was supposed to be seen without a lens.

lost in thought, she didn't hear the footsteps behind her.

"wow." a familiar voice said. (y/n) whipped around, her heart racing. she blushed a shade of red that matched the sky when she saw who it was.

richie tozier himself.

"u-uh yeah. it's really beautiful isn't it?" she stuttered, mentally berating herself for being so shy.

he sat down next to her, their legs dangling off the cliff.

"what exactly brings you out here?" he asked, scrunching his nose up.

the butterflies erupted again.

"well, i was gonna take some photos, but i thought that it would be nicer to just watch." she shrugged, looking straight ahead. "how bout you?" she turned her gaze to him.

their eyes met and (y/n) swore that they were the most beautiful things that she had seen. even better than the sunset.

it didn't go unnoticed by richie how mesmorized she was by his eyes and his cheeks were soon dusted rosy pink.

"i uh forgot a couple things from earlier today, i was just coming back to grab them." he replied, still trying to figure out why she was so entranced by him.

for a loudmouth he was certainly at loss for words.

and for the first time, he actually didn't mind it.
