"I need her."
Junmyeon nods in understanding. "I know."
He just let the man hold him tight as he cried his heart out."Why don't you just go home for the day? Take a rest and leave this all to me?"
Sehun shakes his head. "No, I don't want to go home."
The thought of staying alone at home adds salt to his open wound. He don't want to be alone in places she used to be.
"Then go back on a vacation to your mother. I'm sure they'll understand."
Sehun silence in contempt. "I'll call you when I've get it done."
Although in daze, he surely thinks Junmyeon is talking about the works at the company. So he nod his head.
Junmyeon pats his back before he leave to return to his post. He said nothing when Sehun left the office.
Being a secretary to a well known CEO sometimes has its perk. Like having to work overtime almost everyday, going out station and a morning run for a cup of coffee. But the point is, it has its perk on every little things.
Like knowing the lawyer to the Kim's family.
Having done several meetings and scheduled catchup with the male, Junmyeon knows it pays off this time. Keeping the lawyer accompanied for a small coffee dates or just him sitting on a stool waiting for a the lawyer to serve his self brewed coffee at his cafe.
Park Chanyeol is a nice man. And Junmyeon takes full advantage to that. He texted the man for a dinner together. Receiving a quick okay afterwards.
Junmyeon settles himself behind the table as he reads the preused menu. When the chair before him scraped against the floor that he looks up from reading.
"Fancy meeting you again Junmyeon." The older one smiles, showing his gummy smile. Junmyeon stands for a handshake before they both settles down.
"So, what is it that makes you suddenly wants to meet me?"
A waiter steps in to pass a menu booklet for Chanyeol. Junmyeon in return focus back on his menu. "Let's talk over dinner."
Both falls into comfortable silent as they browse through the booklets. The same waiter came for their order before leaving the table with the menu.
They starts with a small talks on catching up with each other. Until Junmyeon speaks up.
"Say... Chanyeol-shi, are you the one who handles the cases for the Kim family?"
The man only continues munching on his serving of steaks as he nods. Slicing another small piece for the next bite. "Why?" Eyes never leaving the food.
"I need a help."
Chanyeol stops cutting his steak as he put down his knife. Junmyeon could see how Chanyeol slowly retreats back behind his wall. He remains silent for a few minutes, trying to read the meaning behind his request.
"Why?" Junmyeon had to surpass the chill on hearing his voice.
"Because someone's happiness might be at stake."
Chanyeol quirks his eyebrows at the male. As if asking him what he means. He continues.
"Sehun had been my boss ever since I moved to Seoul. He is cold and precise in his actions. Sometimes he does it without even thinking."
Junmyeon locks eyes with the man. "He may not be the best man, but he is just like any other person. And everyone deserves a second chance."
Chanyeol continues eating as if nothing that he said matters to him. "I'm impressed to see you all worked out for this man. But I believe, work should always stays as work and personal life shouldn't meddles with it."
He sighed. Park Chanyeol may look like a man with a baby face, but you shall not treat him like one.
"Sehun is more than a boss to me." Chanyeol stops eating again. Giving upwards glance at the male. "He is the only person who look out for me. My first few weeks here had been rough, but he always guides me through everything. And I believe he can walk through anything. But not this."
Junmyeon is now just playing with his food. "I have never seen him so raw and unprotected. And just because of a girl." He resolutes. Dropping his hand on his lap as he balled his fist. "And now, its my turn to be his guardian. The one who will set things right for him."
The other carve an amused smile. Never pnce expecting the timid and professional Kim Junmyeon would bend such life rule for a man name Oh Sehun. "Please, Chanyeol-ah."
He sighed before staring straight into his eyes. Junmyeon doesn't waver at his stare, instead they stares right back at him, with hope. Minseok nods almost reluctantly.
Wide smile automatically graces his lips. "Thank-"
"But there's only one way for this to happen. We play by my game."
Junmyeon stills for a second before he nods. There's still a limit with what he can do for Sehun. And he'd play any cards he have right now. "Okay."
Chanyeol replies him with a toothy smiles. Prodding the male to continue eating. It wasn't awkward, and they stir far away from the previous topic.
The dinner ended with both male shaking hands and promise to hear from each other soon.
Next few days, Junmyeon received a text from Chanyeol telling him that he had a plan on how to complete their mission.
He told Junmyeon that he can't actually make them un-divorce, but he could perhaps make a way for Sehun to get back with her. He had planned for them to be 'grounded' together for a month or so. They called it as the consolation period.
Junmyeon agreed right away and proceed to share the information with Sehun.
At least he brightens up at the suggestion. He had a second chance. "I guess now I'm on a mission to seduce my wife."
He chuckles to himself. Already planning in his mind what he should do in the period.
