🔗Hustling of the forever busy airport drowns their own sounds of footsteps. Sehun strolled casually, pulling their large luggage in one hand with their passport in between his fingers.
His other hand wrapped securely around her hand. Holding her smaller hand in his warm and large one.
Warm feeling of security wash over her as she studies his hold on her. In the bustle and hustle of the airport, he use the hold to keep her closer to his own frame.
"Sehun where are we going ??" He only tugged her to walk closer with him.
"Sehun !" she tries again but still he silently proceeds to the check in counter. She planted her feet solid on the ground after they've passed the check in. Refusing to move even the slightest when he tried to pull her to walk again.
"What's wrong baby?" he asked softly. Eyes reflecting the curiosity and concern over the girl.
Haejin hugs her arm to herself. Protesting silently at the way he was pulling her around like she is not a human being and more so as his wife. Well, they are still husband and wife right?
"Where Are We Going?" she repeats her question earlier. Emphasizing each words.
Sehun ran his eyes casually on her outfit. Taking in her skinny legs in jeans with casual shoes, crop top under a thin cardigan. Her long hair let loose in wavy curls.
But he smiles to himself when they land on her face. Her lips twisting in a bratty pouts glazed in soft pink color from her own natural pair and a light layer of lipstick. He sighed fondly.
He reach for her hand softly and Haejin just lets him. Not trying hard to keep her bratty attitude. "We" he made a hand gesture between the both of them "are going on a short vacation."
His thumb unconsciously rubbing at the back of her hand, feeling her smooth skin there. The girl sighed heavily. "but where? and all of the sudden? Why?"
The smile never left his lips as he focuses solely on her. "somewhere only you and I." He smirks before winking slyly at her shocked expression. He takes a deep breath before continuing in slightly lower tone than before. "Besides, we never spent some times together with each other. and we never had a honeymoon after we're married."
His voice almost drowning in the busy sounds of the surrounding, but she caught it.
"Why would we need a honeymoon? We are getting a divorce in a week time Sehun. We don't need vacation or honeymoon, we need distances between ourselves." she lectures.
Letting the hurt that flash on his face pass by and not letting it get to her. "this, is not working Sehun. We can't be with each other because even though we are legally married, our base isn't strong. You had other intention married to me while I am the only one trying hard to hold us together, you never did make efforts for us."
The rubbing at the back of her hand stops, but his hold never once lose. He bores eyes into her own. Taking in the hurt and even more hurts she keeps to herself as she tries to hold his stares. She knows there's something he is looking in her eyes, and she just lets him.
Taking in the hurts and and truth behind her words, he nods softly. "even if we did not belong to each other anymore in the future, but please Haejin, at least let me make it up to you."
"if we did comes to an end, let's do this the right way. Where we have great and good memories, not just the sad and hurtful moments. Let me give you a taste of how being in a marriage with me would be."
He suddenly pulls his hand away from her, kneeling with one knee on the ground. Sehun dip his hand inside his pocket, pulling out a band of right in between his fingers.
"We may have a bitter starting point but we can still make a sweeter ending for us." he said with her wedding ring shining in between his calloused fingers.
She takes off her wedding band and just let it web by the bed table. Somehow wearing it reminds her of their status and she doesn't want it to cloud her decision.
Haejin was so deep in thoughts and awwed that the Oh Sehun is kneeling right in front of her in the middle of a busy airport that she missed the silence surrounding them.
"Take the ring miss !" a sudden voice shouts from her side. People are circulating around them, holding their breath as they records the seemingly romantic scene.
She gasped softly. Eyes alert as she assess the situation they are in. "Sehun get up! People are watching!"
The man shakes his head. "let them know that I am more than willing to kneel for you now."
"Oh for God's sake, just say yes !" another voice shouts out.
"He is so romantic! accept him!"
"yeah! Don't let the man wait for you!"
At that, Sehun voice out in her defense, "She can make me wait for her all of my time because after what I've done, I don't deserve her but still my heart wants her. Always."
He whispers the last word while staring right into her eyes. She needs to know and feels his sincerity.
They stares at each other with Sehun still kneeling in front of her, surrounded by the passerby who created a circle around them.
"Okay" She whispers softly.
But the smile erupted on Sehun's face brings joy to her heart.
Because just how much a simple word from her can light up his face like she lights up his whole universe.
Maybe, saying that is for the best. Maybe they really did need this get together getaway. Maybe this will be end them in a better position.
At least, no bitter heartbreaks, no revenge, no tears and lies.
Just the truth, just us.
