Shawn had been stressing out all day, making sure that his tuxedo was completely spotless and without any cat hair; since your cat loved to sleep on his clothes whenever they had been laid out.
Tonight he was meeting your parents and vice versa and the whole idea of a fancy dinner and awkward conversation caused your stomach to do numerous backflips. You nibbled on your fingernail nervously as Shawn finally made his way downstairs.
"You look absolutely beautiful, darling. Now let's go and impress your parents."
The whole night was a stress attack for you, but despite this it was actually very successful. You parents warmed up to Shawn immediately, your Mum getting especially excited when he mentioned he sang for a career.
Your Dad was a little harder to win over, but with Shawn being the gentleman he was, your Dads heart had also been won by the time you had finished your food. When you finally said your goodbyes, you had no doubt in your heart that your parents adored Shawn like you did and approved of him very much.
"So what are your intentions with my daughter, Shawn?"
"Only to make her as happy as she has made me, Sir. I wish to show her how truly beautiful she is and for her to never forget it."
