Tee’s POV

“Ouch!”

What was that?

I open my eyes to see who has just hit me. Dare I complain? It’s Granny with a bunch of red incense in her right hand. It’s always like this: her waking me up with whatever she’s holding.

Now, don’t get me wrong, I love my grandma to the moon and back, so I just look at this as her way of showing her concern for me. She doesn’t want staying in bed too long. She is a firm believer of Feng Shui, and we have to follow her beliefs too if we don’t want to get kicked out of the house. Getting up late in the morning means throwing away luck. Talk about my Chinese ancestry problems, huh?!

Well, one won’t miss my features. By my name alone, anyone can tell that I hail from a family with Chinese blood. You can call me Tee by the way. It means a guy with white skin of Chinese descent. Too bad my dream was interrupted. That was the only chance I got to dance with my Korean hero, Park Bo-Gum. Only in my dreams.

“Are you going to make your best friend wait for you that long?”

Holy shit! I totally forgot! Today is the first day of our workshop. Gi, who’s my best friend at the agency, and I were chosen to play a role in the new and upcoming TV series 2 Moons.

I didn’t expect to get any roles at all. I wasn’t even included in the final pick of the author herself.

It was Kavin (Jo) whom they predicted to be cast as Beam, so P’Tae, my partner in the series, and I got really surprised when we were told that the production team decided to choose us.

You bet I was lucky! That’s all because of Granny sharing her secret with me. She said I should wear a red pair on underwear to attract luck during the auditions. There was nothing to lose, and in fact I found it believable. Feng Shui worked! Ha ha!

“I’ll be there in a sec, Granny.”

I told her then ran downstairs. Gi was shocked when he saw me.

You haven’t taken a shower yet?”
His voice was kind of loud and it’s okay because for sure, we’re going to be late.

I can drive to the workshop by myself, but we made a deal to go together in his car since our house is on his way. I’ll pitch in for the gas.

This is our first lead role, so we have to be wise in spending our earnings and not to be one-day millionaires.

I rushed to take a shower and get ready. I made sure to check myself out in the mirror and tell myself how handsome I am. And of course, a wink for my idol Park Bo-Gum poster before exiting my room. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not a homo. I just really treat the guy as an inspiration including Mario Maurer.

In the living room, I see Granny making fun of Gi again. Gi and his dimples. I should nominate him to be in the Guinness Book of World Records because of those unbelievable indentations on his cheeks.

“Granny, we’d better get going.” I told her then I looked at Gi to signal him to get up. He also bid good bye to her.

“Take care!” Granny reminded us.

We both nodded, and I quickly grabbed Gi to leave instantly before Granny decides to perform one of her chants to us complete with lit incense for luck.

On our way, Gi keeps on rolling his eyes on me worrying we might get late, so I take out from my bag  my precious ‘baby’ to play some music and set a better atmosphere inside the car.
