Ravenpaw's eyes fluttered open. Yawning, she uncurled herself and stretched. Her bones popped uncomfortably as she did. She yawned again and heaved herself out of her nest, stepping over her sleeping denmates.
Outside, the air was cool and crisp. The stale scent of cats filled the air and Ravenpaw guessed the dawn patrol left not long ago. Few cats lingered about. Troutswim camp through the camp entrance, possibly returning from guard duty. Featherstar, Lilypad, Thickear and Pebbleheart sat by the freshkill pile, talking over a large duck. Minnowpaw sat next to Tangleoak and Jumppaw, nodding and flicking her tail whenever they asked her about something. Ravenpaw sat next them, Tangleoak flicking his ears in greeting
