Tories POV
(flashback)"You know the way back, right lexi? " I asked without looking at her. In reply she clicked her tongue and shook her head.
" We'll just retrace our steps back, yeah?" she said after a few seconds.
"Yeah okay". All the while Ash kept quiet with scared eyes.We held each others hands to avoid getting separated. Walking quietly and slowly, and we covered distance which never seemed so much.
After a few 'I'm scared' from Ash and our responses 'we' re near' from me or lexi, we finally saw the cave exit. Without wasting one second, we started running toward the light.
Two shadows came into view and a high pitched voice was heard. "ASH! LEXI! TORI!" came the voice. I immediately recognised it of Aunt Helena, ash's mom.
"Momma!" squealed ash. "Momma we are here!"
"For God's sake what are you girls doing here!?" mine and lexi's mom said as she hugged us.
"We thought it would be cool to explore this cave but it was too dark and we lost our way. But then we somehow managed to find the way back and now we are here." Lexi's enthusiastically explains as if she wasn't about to pee in her pants back there.
Ash was a different case to be honest. Her eyes had swollen and her face reddened due to the constant crying I was completely unaware of. Not to forget, her hair was a mess.
The Adventurer Ash was now a frightened mush. She swore never to get into a cave again in her life.
(flashback ends)
I smiled as I set the empty cup back on the table.
"What's the matter Tori?". Emma asked as she took a sip of her cappuccino.
"Huh, What?" I was suddenly snapped out of my thoughts.
"You were smiling to yourself......creepily." Skylar said, looking up from her phone.
"Oh, nothing. I remembered our "cave adventure." I said looking at Ashley and air-quoting 'cave adventure'.
"Huh, that day......Scary." Ash shuddered a little. She is still not over her fear of dark. I couldn't help the chuckle that left my lips.
I had always found my life interesting. I loved everything I had in my life- my family, my school, my car and most of all, my friends. Heaven alone knows what I would do without them. Every moment I spend with them is precious. Every second, every minute, every hour.... Valuable.
