GHG Reborn: The Other Side

River's Beginning

It's been 6 months in the revamped death game of Destiny 2. The children of the past commanders have joined together, just as their parents had once before but this time under the title GHG Reborn. After the city fell to the Red Legion and surviving NPCs and players retreated to the European Dead Zone there has been steady growth in their powers again. The hunters learned AcrStider, what Yuki calls "a stronger version of her parents bladedancer". The warlocks learned DawnBlade Ray calls it what his father always dreamed of. Finally the Titans learned Sentinel. Since their formation as a team GHG Reborn has been working rather well together, but Yuki and Artemis decided to do some digging into their parents past in the destiny world and found traces of a old GHG base they used on the moon.

The six of them landed simultaneously on the moon, the flag that showed they were at the initial spawn point blew freely. Violet walked over to Yuki and Artemis, putting her hand cannon on her hip. "Why are we here again you two? I think they need us more on earth then this stupid uninhabited floating rock." She asked. "I'm with ya there Violet, but me and and Yuki believe we found out where our parent's old moon base was located. We have no idea what valuable loot they had toward the end of the first destiny." Artemis said spawning in her sparrow and climbing on. "I'm gonna have to agree with her V" said Gary walking past Violet and getting on his sparrow. Violet sighed and spawned her sparrow in as well. "I hope you guys are right." She said as they followed Yuki past the hellmouth they found a small path they never knew of. Leading to a field of craters small to almost the size of the hellmouth behind them. "We should be close by now! Keep your eyes peeled." She shouted to the others. They rode till they found a unnaturally secluded crater. Yuki got off first and took out some notes from her inventory. "If what we found is correct it should be relatively close to one of these craters." She said taking a seat on a boulder next to the crater to read. The rest of them dismounted and stared searching around for the craters. Violet walked over to the crater behind Yuki and peered into it "Why does this one seem so ... strange" she muttered. She turned to check another crater, but saw trained on her were all her friend's guns. Her face twisted with disgust "What's the fucking deal here? Huh? Was this all some elaborate plan to get me alone to kill me? Have you all gone crazy?!" She shouted pulling out the Fatebringer her dad left behind for her. "Violet don't move a muscle!" Shouted Yuki staring at her through the sights of her smg. "I won't go down without a fight!" Violet shouted back. Before she could fire the first shot, the gentle press of the barrel of a gun pressed against her head and the low groan of a fallen made her nerves tense up more. "God damn it" Violet muttered as she raised her hands in a surrender. Four fallen captains swords in all hands walked into the view of Violet, but made no moves to attack. Each captain wore a different color orange, red, yellow, and purple. After what felt like a eternity of a stand off Ray became impatient. "What do you think they want, I don't think they'd keep her alive this long if they didn't want something. "What we want is for you to take your Titan friend and leave here." Said one of the captains as the vandal that had Violet captive pushed her away. Yuki stopped aiming her smg "Wait what? They speak English and they don't want to kill us what kind of Canadian shit goes down on the moon?" She asked is dismay. "You're Canadian you dumb ass." Said Artemis gun butting her with her hand cannon. "Why are you letting me go so easily?" Violet asked when she was safely rejoined with her friends. "We work for GHG, we don't have order to kill on sight but if you fire the first shot then I guess I can't be helped." Said the orange captain with a crooked grin. "Whoa hold on you worked for our parents?" Yuki asked in confusement. "Each of us lost an honorable duel to one of the original GHG members. The colors we wear symbolize that guardian. We're tasked with keeping their bases secret from fallen, hive, vex whatever and whoever that is not welcome here at bay." Replied the fallen placing a sword in the lunar ground. "Now leave this area before we have to make you guardians." Said the purple one. "No no wait we came here because of our parents left this for us." Yuki said holding up a badly beaten up taken ghost. The captains backed away in shock. "That's Commander biashii's ghost that Sanchez said would have the door code. Only trusted allies would have it he said." Said the red captain as all the captains put their swords away and the vandal lowered his weapon. GHG looked to each other in shock, except for Yuki. "Thanks uncle John." She said with a smile. "I'm not sure about your blood relationship to GHG, but we have orders to let you into the base." Said the yellow captain as the fallen turned jumped into the crater. The 6 stared into the crater in utter confusement. Yuki sighed and backed up "ah to hell with it." She said as she leaped in. She stared down waiting for the split second she would have to use her double jump to stop the hard landing. It felt like forever before she caught a glimpse of the ground beneath her. She quickly double jumped and gently landed in front of the captains waiting for her. She slowly walked up to them as one by one members of GHG dropped in behind her in similar fashion. "This way guardians." Said the orange captain walking away with the purple captain. Yuki and the others followed behind them trying not to get lost in the near pitch black atmosphere. "Who's idea was it to have the moon base in pure darkness?" Ray complained peering just to keep sight of Gary's back. "The founders of the land were known as Dylan and John, however it was Kaelen who brought the idea of having the base close to the hive controlled areas deep in the moon." Answered the purple captain as they stopped in front of a wall. Artemis walked up to Yuki and the captains and stared at looked at all three of them. "It's a wall? Really?" She said staring at the wall. The captains said nothing but looked at Yuki, she knew what they were hinting at. She pulled out what she now knew was her father's ghost and held it close to the door. A small mechanical eye popped out of a small panel and shot a beam of light at the ghost. The ghost slowly flickered until it started floating upwards, the flickering increased until it just became a solid light in the ghosts eye. Yuki's ghost appeared above her left shoulder. " I can't believe it ... whatever that eye is it revived biashii's ghost..." her ghost said in awe. She stared at the taken ghost as it looked up to the eye that revived it and shot its own beam at it. A couple restless seconds before a metallic door handled popped out of the wall and a plaque reading "GHG" appeared around a rectangular outline. Artemis and Yuki looked to the rest of GHG in a lost state. The orange captain walked up to the door and looked to Yuki "Do you wish to do the honors Miss Yuki or shall I?" The captain asked. Yuki snapped out of her shock and nodded "I'll do it, sorry about that." She said as she quickly reached for the door and opened it slowly. The first thing she saw was the massive L shaped couch in what she thought would be a living room of some sort. She walked in slowly, GHG close behind her. There was a Kitchen with a counter separating it from the living room, cans of various sodas, a couple pizza boxes, and oddly a bowl of half eaten salad and cereal layed stacked on the counter. A equal massive TV sat in front of the couch on the wall. Assortments of pillows, sheets, blankets, and clothes layed on the couch. Along the walls various trophies hung on the wall with plaques saying where they were from. She immediately saw one infamous to her dad. A massive eye from a Hydra hung on the wall with the plaque below reading "Eye of the Templar: John saved us with the help of lag he oneshot the Templar with the Aegis." The one beside it was a Hive sword with green mist emitting from it, its plaque read "The Sword of the last Swordbearer Trystan used it to get the last hit on Crota before the oversoul ended our first year." Before she could read more Gary walked past her and stopped in front of a hallway she didn't notice. "Where does this lead?" He asked the Yellow captain. "We haven't been in here often, but I'm pretty sure that leads to their personal quarters and the elevator to the lower levels. Gary glanced at the others and started walking through. In her curiosity for answers Yuki walked through as well. She passed by various doors that had names of her uncles on them, they weren't her priority though. She found a tinted gray door with the symbol of a hunter with a knife stuck on the door. She looked to the plaque above the door "Biashii" it read. "Dad's room huh..." she muttered as she reached for the door's handle. Before she could another mechanical eye popped out of the door, she jumped back in surprise but regained her composure. She stared at it in confusment. "It requires biashii's DNA to open" said the orange captain walking up to her. She looked at the eye then the captain "Well if it's looking for his DNA I guess I can't get in huh" she said pulling off her gray hood in a sigh. "If you are his kin then your DNA will also suffice." Replied the captain making a fist and lightly hitting the door. A small Petri dish like container appeared out of another compartment of the door. She looked at the knife and pulled it out of the door, she put the blade against her thumb and lightly pressed against it. Drops of blood started forming from the fresh cut, she squeezed her thumb over the dish and it immediately retracted and made some mechanical sounds behind the door. "DNA match welcome back Trystan." Said a robotic voice from the door as it opened. She slowly walked inside, looking around for anything that may catch her eye. There was a closet about 25 feet away from her, it was wide open showing off a couple of hanging cloaks. The mantle of gheleon and the shattered vault cloak. To her left she saw a much smaller TV bolted to the wall and a dart board, but instead darts being used there were assortment of knives stuck into the board. Some holoprojected posters were scattered along the other walls, some having to do with destiny others were some animes or other games dad said he liked a lot growing up. "God dad you're a nerd to the core aren't ya." She chuckled as she walked in further. "Miss if I may? Since you are biashii's daughter I believe it is only right if I ask you if it is alright for me to step into the room?" Asked the orange captain rather awkwardly. She raised an eyebrow "Well I don't see why not you were my father's captain. You're weirdly polite for fallen. She replied turning back to the room. He stepped in slowly "biashii... well GHG in general said we had no manners in the first few months of us working with them. They thought highly of our combat skills but not of our old fallen ways off the battlefield. So they had us learn your earthly mannerisms for whenever we stayed in their base." The captain said looking around as well. "Hmm I guess they spent quite a bit of time together then." She thought. She saw a desk in a corner with a holo monitor and keyboard, she walked up to it. She pressed a key to wake it up from sleep mode. Luckily her dad never signed out last time he was on it. The screen showed a google chrome browser with multiple tabs opened. "I still don't know how bungie got away with having google in their game without selling out or paying for royalties." She muttered as she went through the tabs. The first tab was on a YouTube playlist labeled "For The Last Fight" the first song she recognized was "this is war". Yuki nodded in a approval. The next tab was an old website that was used during the first Destiny crisis, it had video feeds sent in by families all you needed was your full name and birth date for the site to give you access to your videos. Yuki knew they had one for the current crisis but she was hesitant to check it because she doesn't want to be emotional around her friends. She shook off her curiosity and looked at the next tab. It was the website for her dad's home city news station. The last tab was surprisingly well drawn blueprints for space frigates. Her eyes grew with the realization that hit her like a brick. "This is the blueprints my dad made for the fleet he wanted made so the remaining players could fight Oryx head on!" She yelled in joy. The captain chuckled in delight " ah yes I remember biashii staying up day and night working on those very designs with miss Mia." He said relishing in his memories. Yuki turned to the captain, "Wait my mom helped make these too? Oh my god this is so awesome! I knew they defeated Oryx but I thought the whole part about my parents building these ships together was just them messing with me!" She said falling back onto the bed behind her. Tinted orange shown from underneath the bed after she layed on it. "We made the right decision looking for this place." She said with a big smile as she stretched her arms. She heard a knock from the doorway. She turned her head to see the purple captain standing in the hall. "Is something wrong, brother?" Asked the orange captain. "No, miss Artemis just wanted me to let Yuki know she 'found a load of dope shit' and wishes for her to be there as well." Said the purple captain. "Oh god that girl never gives me a break. Tell her I'll be there in a bit I need to finish up here." She replied as she stood up again and pulled out her ghost. "Ghost I need you to pull blueprint files and anything you might find useful from my dad's computer please." She told her ghost. "Will do." ghost replied.
