"I'm cold." Abi whined.

"Okay. What do you want me to do about it?" I looked over at her as she stuck her bottom lip out.

"Give me your sweatshirt. Duh."

I held back a smile and set my mouth in a straight line, "No."

"Yes."

"No."

"YES!" Abi screamed in the middle of the hallway.

"You are such a child!" I quickly threw her my sweatshirt as she made a smug face.

"I know."

I smile and shake my head. A silence grows between us, which doesn't bother us at all, it's a comfortable silence.

I turn my head and study her. Her blue eyes look like rare dark sapphires, and it takes everything in me to look away.

Damn, she's beautiful.

I mentally slap myself in the face for saying that.

She's your best friend, you're not supposed to think that way.

We've been best friends for ten years, and yet, my feelings haven't changed for her at all.

I'm in love with her.

And I have been from the moment I ran my tricycle into hers. She was six and I was eight.

"What?" Abi questions me after catching me staring at her.

"I'm thinking about how much of an idiot you are." I smile as she hits me on the arm.

"You're an idiot."

"No I'm not."

Abi glares at me knowing she can't argue with me, I win all of our fights, Most of the time.

I smile at her which causes her to squint her eyes so hard that it looks like she just has her eyes closed. I start laughing which causes her to go red faced. "I hate you."

"The feeling is mutual." I reply.

She turns to head into class but I wrap my arms around her and pull her back.

"Agh! Get off me!"

I smile and kiss the top of her head. "Bye Squirt."

Abi sighs and leaves.

If only I could tell her how I feel.
