Chapter 2: don't always expect the best.

I walked into school alone, yet again. Ever since Louis wasn’t there, I wasn’t really accepted into my old group, I looked around the cafeteria, I saw those two girls from about two months ago from science, what was their names, Zana, Cassie? No that’s not it. Um Caitlin and Zoe! That’s it, I walked over to their table and I said to the Caitlin girl “Can I please sit with you?”

“Um yeah I guess so.” She said.

When I sat down they started introducing themselves.

The Caitlin and Zoe girls said hello.

This one girl with long curly blonde hair and brown eyes, introduced herself as Emily. Another girl with long straight blonde hair and hazel eyes, introduced herself as Kate. And the last girl had long wavy brown hair and brown eyes, introduced herself as Hannah.

I said to all of them “Well it’s nice to meet you all, I am Rachael.”

Then Caitlin said “So where is your friend Louis?”

I was surprised I didn’t start crying then and there, like I had done every other time his name was mentioned.

“Um we… are not um friends anymore.” I said with my voice shaking.

“Oh sorry I didn’t know you weren’t friends anymore.” She apologized.

“Neither did I.” I mumbled.

“What?” Emily asked

“Nothing, sorry I was just thinking.” I said.

“So where did he go?” Hannah asked.

“X Factor, he got in, the show comes on next week if you want to watch it.”

“Oh yeah cool, what’s his full name again?” Hannah asked.

“Louis Tomlinson.” I said.

“So what happened between you guys, you were like really close and then he’s just…gone.” She said.

“Um we just drifted apart I guess.”

We kept talking and day after day I got closer and closer to the girls.
