Tears streamed down from Kousei's face. He was staring at the "stars" in the ceiling as if waiting for a response, but none came. He stood up from the piano stool and stood at the center of the stage. He bowed for the audience but before the audience even got to give him his applause he walked off stage.

"That was great!" Takeshi shouted from across the hall walking towards him with Emi. They were both smiling but the smiles soon faded when they saw that Kousei was crying.

"A-Are you okay?" Emi asked but Kousei didn't respond and walked passed them. He entered his dressing room where he fell to the ground and started to sob. 'She's gone isn't she? I knew it was too good to be true.'

After a while he stood up and changed into his casual clothes. He grabbed his stuff and walked out of the room. He was greeted by Takeshi and Emi waiting for him outside already in their normal attire. He walked right past them causing them to follow him. He didn't notice them behind him but they decided to keep following.

Kousei decided that it would be best if he headed home first and maybe rest. On his way he saw that he was passing by the bakery that Kaori's parents owned. 'I should probably pass by to see how they're doing.' As soon as Kousei entered both of his rivals hid behind the walls beside the bakery shop trying not to be noticed by Kousei.

"Wel-" both parents were cut off when they saw Kousei enter the shop. "Ah, Kousei. Hello!" Mr. Miyazono said in his normal happy voice. "Today we're having the Kaori Miyazono special. Would you like one."

Kousei chuckled to himself a little bit. "The Kaori Miyazono special. That's nice, you know, in memory of her. Sure I'll take one."

Both parents looked at each other in confusion. "In memory?" Both whispered to each other then looked at each other with faces that showed a bright idea. Mrs. Miyazono walked over to the counter and placed a piece of paper in the paper bag before rolling it back up and giving it to him. "Here you go. By the way, I think Kaori left something for you in her hospital room. It shouldn't be occupied yet so you should go get it." The woman said.

"Sure.Thank you." He waved goodbye to them as he left the shop. Kaori's parents both followed him quietly along with his rivals. Once he got to the hospital the woman at the desk spotted him. "Ah! Mr. Arima..." before she could continue she spotted Mr. and Mrs. Miyazono waving their hands side to side signaling her not to say anything.

"Hi. I'm just here to pick up something from the room of Kaori Miyazono." The woman nodded and let him walk through. As he climbed the stairs he started to get a little depressed remembering the time he carried Kaori on his back up and down the stairs. Eventually he reached the room where his friend stayed in.

As he opened the door he dropped his bag of pastries when he saw what was inside. There he saw the girl he loved sitting on her hospital bed with a piece of paper in her hands. As soon as Kaori noticed the black haired teen standing at the door she put down her paper and smiled at him. "Yo." She said with her typical happy voice. Kousei didn't respond but instead stood there as tears started forming in his eyes and, before he knew it, the tears started covering his face.

Once he snapped out of it he ran towards blonde tackling her onto the back of the hospital bed and hugging her with a grip so tight she could hardly breathe. "Kaori! I-I thought your were dead!" He realized what he was doing and instantly got up from the bed. Kaori sat up and rubbed her back as a way of making Kousei feel guilty for tackling her.

He noticed that Kaori had something in her hand. It was a letter for... Kousei Arima? "What's that?" Kousei asked. Kaori's face became red and she hid the paper under her pillow. "Nothing! Sheesh you come here after my surgery and that's the first thing you tell me." She crossed her arms and looked away from him with a sigh.
