Kaori slowly opened her eyes and sat up. 'Oh right... I'm in Kousei's house.' She searched her bag for her glasses case since it would be too hard to put on her contact lenses in her current state. She eventually found it and placed on her glasses before heading out to see Kousei cooking breakfast. His face turned red the instance he saw her and quickly turned back to the food he was making. "Hi Kaori... do... you like pancakes?" She nodded and sat down at the table where she anxiously waited for the food.
When he was down he placed the pancake drowned in syrup in front of her and one across the small table for himself. The first few minutes of them eating was in silence when Kaori decided to break it.
"Did I do something wrong?"
"N-no it's just that..."
"It's just that what?"
"Well... you were kind of saying my name in your sleep and it got really awkward because you were practically cuddling me and stuff."
Her face also started to turn red and tried to hide it.
"Did I say anything else?"
"Well not really. It was just really awkward."
The next few minutes were also in silence but this time neither of them wanted to look at each other.
"Listen, let's just pretend like this never happened and enjoy our day alright?" Kousei said. Kaori gave her usual energetic smile in response and the rest of breakfast went on like normal with the two talking to each other.
Eventually Kousei got dressed in clothes that were meant for going out but Kaori was only able to dress in her clothes that she used when going to Kousei's house. "If we start walking now then we should have about 10 minutes of spare time before classes start."
They soon arrived at a relatively small building where Kaori claimed their singing lessons would be. As soon as the entered they were greeted by a tall man standing before them. "Excuse me, are you Ms. Kaori Miyazono and Mr. Kousei Arima?" He asked. Both nodded nervously and his serious nature was abandoned for a more happy and go lucky attitude.
"I'm a really big fan of you two! Your performance last year was amazing and its such an honor to have you two here with us!"
They were both lead to a room where a woman who looked similar to the man was waiting for them. "By the way, my name is Haruto and I am the head of this establishment. That over there is my sister. She will be your instructor for the next week. This week will more or less be more like a practice week, we will help improve your singing voices and other things like that and if you like it you can stay! Anyway I've got a meeting with some parents I need to attend so just call for me if you need anything."
He closed the door behind him and the two walks towards the woman.
"Hi there! My name is Hana. I'll be your instructor for the next week. So I believe you are Mr. Arima and Ms. Miyazono?" Both once again nervously nodded their heads.
~~~4 HOURS LATER~~~
Both Kaori and Kousei tiredly walked out of the building where they had just had their singing lessons. "They were merciless. I mean they were nice and all but they didn't hold back what so ever." Kousei sighed. "Anyway we still have school tomorrow so you should head back home. I'll head back to the bakery." After walking and talking with each other a little bit they both ended up going their separate ways to their homes.
Kousei was surprised to see Tsubaki and Watari by his house when he arrived. "Hey guys. Don't you have practice today?" Both shook their heads and explained how they didn't have practice on Sundays. "We decided to just come here and hang out with you but turns out you were at your singing lesson thing." Watari said.
Suddenly both Takeshi and Emi showed up behind them and greeted Kousei. "H-hey Kousei... long time no see huh?" Takeshi said nervously. The last time Kousei had seen either of them was the awkward moment at the hospital. Kousei had already decided to forget about it and live on like normal because he didn't want to be on bad terms on them. "Hey guys. Do you wanna come in?"
Before he knew it he was preparing egg sandwiches for the 4 people inside his house. They were all just sitting down on Kousei's couch and talking among one another. Suddenly Tsubaki dropped the question: "Hey Kousei, are you and Kaori, like, officially together? You never really told us but we saw her kiss you and stuff sooo..." He came across as nervous when asking the question but Kousei responded with a small laugh. "Yup. We're officially dating now. We're both still kinda getting used to it but we've been dating for a while now."
"You guys just aren't the type to act like it I guess. You two act like best friends." Tsubaki said.
Kousei realized that what she was saying was true. They hardly act like their a couple and he got a little concerned by this. "Hey Kousei, are you okay? You spaced out for a second." Kousei was brought back to reality by Emi. "I'm fine..." he tried desperately to change the subject from him and Kaori due to the awkward tension that was caused by it.
Takeshi saw this and decided to help Kousei. "Hey Kousei, are you gonna compete in the competition next month?"
"Ya. Are you guys?"
"Both of us are gonna compete. You better make it to finals." Takeshi said.
"You bet I will!"
They all ended up laughing and talking with each other for about and hour when Takeshi and Emi had to leave.
"Looks like it's just us again, like old times." Kousei smiled and watched as Tsubaki and Watari talked without stopping. "I missed when it was just the three of us..." Watari said. Kousei started to feel mixed emotions as soon as he said this. On one hand he did miss when the three of the just hung out but he couldn't imagine his life without Kaori.
Watari saw Kousei mentally conflicted and realized what he just said. "B-but I mean it's really great having Kaori around! She's a great friend and..." Kousei suddenly started to laugh. "It's alright Watari. I also miss the simple times when we would just hang out."
After several hours of talking and reminiscing over old memories Watari had to go home so they all decided to walk to his house together.
"Oh! Do you remember the time when you hit that baseball so hard that it literally bounced of off Kousei's head and hit yours?!"
Kousei walked behind them watching Watari and Tsubaki looking like they were having the most fun in the world. Watari specifically looked like he was enjoying himself a little too much. Suddenly Kousei put two and two together and interrupted them in the middle of their conversation.
"Hey Watari can I talk to you in private?!"
Without even waiting for a response from either Tsubaki or Watari, Kousei quickly pulled him away and behind a tree.
"Do you like Tsubaki?!" Kousei whispered in a very loud way.
"Wh-what?! No! Tsubaki and I are just friends!"
"Of course I know you're just friends! I wasn't asking if you two were dating! I'll ask again: do you like Tsubaki? I mean like, love her?"
Watari searched the area to make sure that no one was listening and rested his back on the tree. "Yes. I like her like that. I... I just don't know how to tell her."
Little did they know, Tsubaki was sitting on the opposite side of the tree to try to listen to what the two boys were talking about. "He... he likes me? He likes me too?" She whispered to herself out loud.
Authors note: Hey guys. So I feel like this chapter is probably the worst one so far and that's because a lot of this stuff was forced. I recently realized that I hardly included Tsubaki and Watari in the story and I really wanted to have a moment where the three just went and hung out.Anyway I'm also going to be starting another original story soon but don't worry, I will be alternating chapters between this story and that one as soon as I hit chapter 3. This means chapters will take longer to come out but they'll still be coming.
Until next time!
