The players unanimously decide to follow Hiro, seeing as he know the secret exit out of the game.
They don't speak, all pretty shell-shocked from by the turn of events. Through some sort of magic - or, more likely, voodoo - they were transported out of the game and to who knows where, fighting a very real battle on a very real ice palace.
Scar may as well be dead. His Hyenas could be dead. Dr. Facilier is possibly dead. Even though they don't want to jinx anything, it's a bit of a comforting thought.
Hiro steers Baymax through the lines of trees, his friends clinging to the armor beside him. They soar over the cliffs and forests, nearing the exit point...
Except when they get there... It's just a mountain of more trees.
No cave in sight.
"What?" Furrowing his brow, Hiro slides off his robot, dropping onto the mushy ground. His friends mimic is actions, bunching up around him. "I don't get it... It was just here. We were just here."
"What's the problem?" Kiara strolls up to the line of trees, her claws retracting. "I thought that Herman told you where the secret exit is."
Hiro drags a hand into his spiky hair, huffing out in frustration. "He did! It's supposed to be right here!" Exhaustion weighs down on him. After everything they've been through today, he doesn't need more problems. What he needs is a nap. "Mulan and I were literally here ten minutes ago. There was a cave here, and we went through it, and it took us out of the game."
Questionable murmurs pass along the gamers, Kayley and Kristoff most wary about an ambush from Scar's surviving Hyenas. Could it be they're seeking revenge on their possibly dead master? Does he even have many surviving minions left?
Mulan trails her fingers along the bark of the various trees, hoping to spring some lever or secret button. The game is playing it's tricks on her mind again; it feels so real, as if she's actually stuck in an actual forest.
That's when she stalls, a horrid realization slicing through her.
"Hiro...." She turns full circle, mouth agape. "We turned the game off. So why is it back on?"
Confusion ripples among the friends, but Hiro catches on immediately. He sighs heavily, visibly sagging in exhaustion. "Banzai. He must have turned it back on. He probably reprogramed the game and deleted our exit."
"Are you kidding me?" Ariel wails, leaning her forehead against the trident. "What are we supposed to do now!? Wait for another explosion? Call 911 and ask for them come find us?"
Mason snorts, waving off her ideas. "No way. The police department here sucks."
Kayley paces around, gears turning in her head as she searches for a plan, ignoring everyone else's complaints and stupid ideas. "Hiro, Herman mentioned that you knew how to turn the game off, and the Hyenas talked about a certain code to say out loud, one that would shut it down from the inside."
Hiro stares at her incredulously, tossing his hands up high. "I have no idea what the code could be! I don't even know Herman that well! Stop putting so much pressure on me!" He bows his head, jamming a fist into his temple.
Sensing his distress, Baymax waddles up behind him, draping himself over the boy, armor and all. "It will be alright. There, there."
Chuckling humorlessly, Hiro leans into his robotic friend. Why in the world would Herman think Hiro knew the codeword? He wasn't even enrolled in San Fransokio Tech when the game was being built. If anything, Tadashi would know much more. He did go to school with the guy.
