Stuck In Between (Twilight Fan Fic)

Chapter 12

"Where is Jake?" I asked as I sat down with the rest of the guys to have breakfast.

"Asleep probably," Jared said smiling at me before tucking another mouthfull of pankake to his mouth. 

I nodded understanding... He'd gotten the whole night shift yesterday.

"So," I said casually. "I'm thinking about going to you know... meet people today and-"

"You can't," Sam said, but actually apollogeticaly. "There's been a new scent... altough slightly familiar, yesterday we identified it. It's a red-headed-"

"It can't be!" I muttered shocked. "What type of red hair?"

"Looked like fire... why?" Embry asked suspicious.

I then panicked. Victoria is here. Oh fudge! What dows she want? Did she find out about Laurent?

"Cassie, what's wrong? Looks like you've just seen a ghost?"

"Sam, I need to talk to you."

Sam nodded and we walked upstairs, closing the door and I made sure they couldn't hear. 

"I know her," I whispered urgently. "Her name's Victoria. She knew Laurent, the vampire you killed..."

"How do you know her?" He asked thinking.

"The day I was turned!" I said remembering. "You must've smelled her then! She was there! Laurent too!"

Sam's eyes widened in realization.

"Do you know why she might be here?"

"I think I do," I said hoping I was wrong. "She must've come to take revenge on Edward. Her mate, JAmes, was killed by him last year... But she should've noticed Edward's not here by know..."

What did she really want? 

"Is she dangerous?" he asked alarmed.

"Very," I confirmed.

With that said, we went for the others.

"we0ve got to go," Sam said, making everyone rise up instantly.

"We've got to get Jake too," I added as we walked outside.

We silently made out way to Jake's house, only for me to start mutternig curses.

"What's wrong?"  Paul asked confused.

"Bella's here."

JAke walked towards her, and then she noticed us. She glared, making me actually feel bad. Bella asked to talk to Jacob alone, and after a hesitant moment, Jake went with her.

Afrter a while of impatiently waiting Jacob came back looking kind of lost.

"I'm sorry Jake," I whispered  giving his hand a light squeeze before shifting to wolf and running to the forest. I have to find Victoria now.
