An Idea I Had For An Alternate Universe

So I just got done reading Fairest and while reading it I remember someone on this TLC community I'm a part of post something that was an idea on how Beauty and the Beat could fit into the TLC story, and I kinda came up with a bit of a concept after that. And yes, I am aware that Scarlet and Wolf echo Beauty and the Beast but this was an idea I made up  on my own based off the post.

So, the alternate universe stems from the idea of if Evret and Levana DID have a child, and that child was Princess Astrid Rosaline Blackburn-Hayle, who was born a few months after Selene was presumed dead. Astrid grew up to become a beautiful young girl, with emerald eyes that had grey flecks in the light and ebony black hair that cascaded down to her waist in soft curls, her skin a pale tone with a hint of rosiness to it.

Astrid grew up very close to her half-sister Winter and their guard friend Jacin, the two girls only being drawn much closer after their father's death. The young princess had grown up loving her older sister, for her kindness, determination, and bravery the little girl felt she lacked, as she stopped using her glamour even though it cost her very sanity, to not hide the scars she had been given even if she wasn't told why Winter had those scars, and to risk being an embaressment of the court.

Levana however, didn't want her own child, the crown princess of Luna, to be swayed into making the same decision as Winter had, so in one day when called alone to her mother's chambers, she physically and mentally abused her own child. Giving her terrible hallucinations, almost choking half to death, and putting scars all over her face, making it seem she had survived an attack by wolves, even though they failed to truly hide Astrid's beauty, but it gave her something permanent to hide. Something permanent to fear, and unlike Winter she gave in. She used her glamour to hide her scars, but she NEVER used it for her own personal gain on anyone else except for her lessons unless it was something horrible. She couldn't bring herself to hurt anyone after what her own mother did to her.

As Astrid grew older she began to feel like a prisoner in her own home. Always having to hide herself, always having to please everyone. Her only comforts and escapes were those times she was able to spend with Winter and Jacin, and in the library pouring over a book, what she believed was an escape into a whole new world. In fact she became so attached to books she would always be seen with one by every court member. They found it impractical, but they in turn made Astrid more intelligant, thinking in a more open minded way than the many others in the court her age, the ones she believed were nothing but dimwits. Her favorite spot was a small bench in the midst of different colored roses.

((A/N: This next paragraph might be a tad bit far-fetched so if anyone can tell me a better way to make work, please tell me))

One night when Astrid was twelve she had a horrible nightmare of that day her mother had abused her, and immedietly got out of bed and ran somewhere, where she didn't know, and shrank against the wall to cry. She had fallen asleep while reading a book that had some rose petals pressed into it, and had ran with it, the smell drawing out a young boy with wolf-like qualities, one of the only people who saw Astrid without her glamour, thus all of the scars that maimed her face. The two had an awkward conversation to say the least, but they kept coming back to see each other as the cameras never picked them up against the wall in the dark, the boy soon revealing his name to be Blake Taurus.

Astrid had learned a lot of thing from Blake, especially about the poor sector her lived, the news of it making her only feel more alone and isolated in the fancy little prison she was born into. She wanted a way to escape. She was done trying to hide. Done living in the palace when all it did was remind her she didn't belong there, done living in fear, but the only thing that kept her from running away altogether were her friends, especially her dear sister Winter, who in Astrid's eyes was the only family she had left, the first friend she ever had.

Then, when Astrid was fifteen, Winter came into her chambers to tell her little sister what Jacin had told her, that her cousin Selene was alive. With that new Astrid knew she had to somehow help her cousin. Had to set her people free from their own prisons on Luna, had to stop living in fear her whole life and place the rightful heir of Luna on that throne, and she whole-heartedly accepted it was not going to be her. It was going to her older cousin Selene Channary Janali Blackburn.
