Chapter 1: Bay's POV :  Hi I'm Bay Madeline Kenish I grew up in a Rich Family. I'm 16. My life was Normal until 2 months ago. When I lost my hearing. I came down with Menigits and lost my hearing due to the antibotics.  My doctor said I needed at least 6 months to recover from the illness before I received the cochlear implant surgery that is suppose to magically make me hear. I am sarcastic. So I guess I can't go six months without school.  And In the meantime I have to learn ASL.  So My doctor is sending me to Carlton school for the deaf.

It's My first Day at Carlton My first Class is with some Teacher Named Miss.Summer's she seems to like my older brother. She met him at the Open House they were flirting the whole time.

Anyway I walk into Miss. Summers class and I  set down. I see posters of Helen Keller.  And our former presidents.  I lay my head down on the desk the teacher isn't here yet so I just lay my head down to rest until she gets here. I'll lift my head up in few minutes. Just  to check.

But it isn't long before a gentle hand lays on my back. I jerk up slowly. And when I look up all I can see are eyes as blue as the ocean staring at me. And hair as Blondish red and firey as can be.  He just smiles. And I swear I lost my breath for 5 seconds.  But soon I come too.

"Your new.?" He signs  I know it is sign language but I don't exactly know what each sign means

I know just one sign "Yes" I reply

He smiles Soon I look at Miss.Summers has entered the classroom.  Emmett sets down and I see his seat is right across from me.

Miss.Summers walks over

"Bay This is Emmett Bledsoe I want him to teach you ASL."   She speaks I can read her lips well and she is signing I assumed she signed what she said.

The Class Passes By quickly I have notes so I follow along. I go through the day in 4 more classes.  When I get outside  for the end of the day Miss Summers Meets me.

"Bay I want Emmett and You to walk home Get to know each other .. He'll be your ASL Bestie so to speak" Miss Summers. States

I can still talk even though I can't hear my voice I can talk. Have No idea how my voice sounds. But I bet not that bad since I could hear for 16 years.

"Don't act all cherry but yes"  I reply . and that's that I agree to Emmett Bledsoe Being my ASL Coach. I guess I had no idea what I signed up for.
