From the moment they met there was something between them. Sure, he was gay and he was supposedly straight but none of that mattered anymore. Backgrounds, likes and dislikes, they were all thrown out of the window. The two men only seemed to be pulled together by some invisible magnet, or glue, or whatever the fuck you want to call it, because every time one took a step back the other took two forwards and they had no choice but to get closer.

And that was a scary thing. Love was, is, a scary thing. It could leave them stranded in a desert of pain, wailing for a single drop of water. It could have them throw their careers away, the careers they worked long and hard for.

It could also make them happy forever.

Would that not be considered an easy choice? Well, it certainly wasn't, wasn't even close.

Tough choices cause disagreements. Disagreements cause fights. And fights usually end up with someone getting hurt. And hurt is one of the hardest things to come back from.

D&C

"This was all your damn fault! That-that first night never should've happened."

"How the fuck is it my fault for inviting you to a concert? It's hardly like I had all this in mind when I asked you if you wanted my friend's ticket! Do you regret that night? Because I sure as hell don't and your lips told me the same thing."

"I didn't know you'd be so easy to fall for," Chris, again, said it like Darren deserved all the blame for something the two of them built together, as one, over the years.

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"It means that I love you so much it fucking hurts!" Chris said in between a scream and a cry.

"I can see that with the way we're yelling at each other. It's very obvious how much we love each other."

"It's hardly the time for sarcasm, Darren," Chris spat out.

"I'm serious. We've been- I don't even know what we've been for years now and I know we've never wanted to put any labels on us but I need to understand what we are gonna do, before I lose my mind over you."

"You already have, you've turned into an idiot."

"I was always an idiot. Stop avoiding the question."

"We- we're going to- take few steps back."

"You can't ask me to do that. I can't stand more than a week apart from you."

"Then why have we been screaming each other's heads off! I don't understand anything between us right now and it'd be easier to see if we-"

"Do you really want what you're about to suggest?"

Chris breathed out for a few seconds before answering, letting the oxygen get to his head, "No."

Darren walked several steps towards Chris and took both of his hands in his own, "Then be my boyfriend, be my- be my anything because I just want you, no matter how."

"Why didn't we do this years ago?"

Darren huffed, "Because you're intolerable."

"So are you. But you're still here."

"You're still here as well. We're still here."

"I-I can't. I just. Can't." And that was when Chris had ran, leaving Darren dumbfounded with two hands still raised in the air, wishing he didn't let Chris' slip out so easily.
