Because there's nothing more beautiful than the way the ocean refuses to stop kissing the shore, no matter how many times its sent away

Seokjin didn't want to leave his small hut right next to the crystal blue waters of the shoreline.

Soft, golden sunlight was filtering through the windows, promising a soft awakening and another day, refusing to yield, no matter the broken promises that had happened the night before.

Not caring that Seokjin was shattered, lying on his old, but soft, bed; tears flowing out of his dull, copper brown eyes, soaking his pillow.

"Jinnie, Jinnie!" yelled a hyper-active voice that shattered Seokjin out of his depression.

Seokjin sighed and wiped his teary eyes and looked up from his tear-stained pillow and faced the nuisance that he loved so dearly.

Kim Seokjung was a literal ball of light that always managed to shine though Seokjin's fake smiles and ice-streaked heart. His younger brother, the one bit of Seokjin that he hadn't yet, or didn't dare to, push away.

Because you're a selfish bastard, of new and old alike, Seokjin thought with bittersweet realization and acknowledgement. And with that happy thought, he heaved his sorry bum out of his bed and hauled up his blithe façade.

Seokjin's favorite mask.

Seokjung's smile was instantly wiped out of his precious, star-blessed face. The worry and concern that replaced it made his youthful face look decades younger and didn't suite his sparkling eyes. His rosy, soft lips curved downwards in what was supposed to look menacing but only came out as a pout.

"Jinnie, did that clueless, stupid boy do something again? Cause every time that you come back from your star walks with that boy, you always look so tired. What's that bum doing? Do I need to tell noona," said Seokjung with teary eyes as he clung to Seokjin's trousers and his voice wavering slightly.

As usual, Seokjung's observational skills and hawk-like precision always managed to knock Seokjin off guard and bring a smile to his face at the use of language that he most definitely did not teach to him.

"I'm fine," Seokjin said, the lie easily slipping out of his lips. "I was just tired and you know that talking with Taehyung is quite tiring."

Seokjung didn't say a word as he stared up at his big brother whom he trusted with all his life, because there was no one left of his so-called family.

"You lie," Seokjung said simply, as easily as if he was talking about the weather.

Seokjin visibly stiffened, and was he opened up his mouth to spew out another bout of false, calming words to sooth his brother; when Seokjung continued to speak, either not noticing the change in his brother's behavior or choosing to ignore it completely.

His soft, sea green eyes that he inherited from their mother turn towards a sharp edge and the smile soon became one of poisoned honey so fast that Seokjin quickly became defensive, by nature. "But the next time that "Taehyung" boy makes you cry then I'm going to have a talk with him, so it doesn't matter that you favor him, cause you're my brother, and no one is allowed to make you cry except me."

All remnants of misery and depression were wiped away as adoration and delicate fondness washed over him and Seokjin wondered what he had done in the past life to deserve such happiness in one small person. Seokjin was about to embrace his precious sunshine that was his brother when Seokjung's mouth opened once again and added to his previous words of comfort.
