"where the hell are we sei?"

pen spinned around, examining the blinding white dome shaped building they were in.

the only way to describe the structure was an igloo.

"i don't know. i just thought this was a pretty cool place." sei's words echoed the large building.

pen was used to people always surrounding them as they conversated, but the population was two.

"i think that's good enough reason to bring me here."

pen bent down and placed her hand on the cold floor, as she sat down. sei sat across from her.

they both sat in silence as pen examined the white tiled walls. then she turned around and faced sei, who had been matching the moment with the music playing softly in their ears.

"i was just about to return the dress when you called." pen fiddled with the ring on her pinky.

sei looked up and took out their earbuds.

"you bought a dress?"

"yes i did. i wanted to go, but after you didn't talk to me all week, i pretty much figured you didn't want to associate yourself with me."

sei extended their legs out in front of them,"no that's not the case. i just wanted to be by myself for a little."

"well you don't have to be by yourself anymore."

"it's just different. you're different."

pen didn't know what that meant.

"well, i hope that's a good thing."

"it's not."

pen hugged her shoulders, suddenly feeling cold, the quiet enveloping the two.

"oh."

there was more silence.

"you confuse me."

"i know, you've told me."

"well, i'm telling you again." pen unfolded her legs, her shoes tapping each other.

more silence.

"my dad isn't the most polite, so don't get upset if he doesn't meet your expectations."

"he'll love me." pen said with a smile.

"well since i'm bringing you, he automatically will assume i'm playing with your heart. you're a much better person than me and i guess being around me will somehow change that."

sei rolled their eyes.

"well your dad is just gonna have to suck it up. because i think you're okay enough."
