It wasn't the first time I had been put on this list. I'm even surprised they didn't notice that I had been here before, and rejected at that. But here I was, the blonde jackass standing in front of me with a bloody nose and despise in his eyes as he stormed out of the room. Once the door closed, I heard his angered screams, which quickly quieted and the door opened once more. This time, a tall dark-skinned man stood in the frame, holding my file. He quietly shut the door behind him and sat across from me at the table. He didn't say anything, just sat there, reading my file over before looking up at me and closing the folder. "McCree huh? Pretty interesting background you've got here. I'm Reyes, you mind telling me how my buddy Jack got a bloody nose?" He asked me smoothly, a smirk on his face and laughter in his eyes. "That ass doesn't seem to realize that maybe I don't want his pitiful help. So I showed him I don't." I snarled, only earning a bout of laughter as he leaned back in his chair. He calmed down quickly, pushing my file to the side of the table as he linked his fingers together. "Now listen here McCree. You know you're gonna be hating life if you keep acting like this. So trust me, and just accept already." I could hear the exasperation in his voice as he leaned in.

I didn't bother answering, and bit my tongue to keep the snide remarks in. He simply leaned back and stared, not a peep heard from him either. After about a half hour of silence went by, he stood up. His chair scraping on the floor. I clenched my jaw, contemplating this choice one last time before sighing loudly. "I'll do it." I must have surprised him with an answer because he jumped the slightest bit, turning and giving me a small smile before coming over to undo the cuffs. Once I was unchained, I stood slowly and followed him out of the room. The ass from earlier still had a bloody nose, and followed after us, his glare far from hidden. Once he was in line with Reyes, he started whispering, not realizing I could hear him. Or maybe he just didn't care. "How? That kid was against it from the start?!" He asked Reyes, handing him money. When Reyes didn't answer, he turned away and stalked down the hallway. "Why'd he give ya money?" I asked, cautious of his movements. He looked over his shoulder and just smiled at me. "I made a bet."

I had heard a new rumor going around the base about a new kid. The strike team had found him in a forest in Japan and brought him here for medical attention. I was about to go to the bathroom when I heard a couple knocks on my door. Groaning, I twisted the handle and opened it to reveal Gabe. "What d'ya want Gabe?" I asked him, still a little tired as I had just woken up less than a minute ago. "Meet me in the training center in 5. We're gonna test that new Shimada kid." I raised an eyebrow but nodded anyway. Once he had left, I hurridly put on my clothes and grabbed my revolver. Checking my watch quickly to see only 3 minutes had passed, I rushed out of my room and towards the training center. I arrived before he did, with just enough time to load my revolver and put on the rest of my gear. He entered as I was strapping on my holster. Behind him followed a shorter person, presumably Shimada. He was practically all cybernetic, except his left arm and his face. He had glowing red eyes and a lot of black. He looked around the room warily, before laying his eyes on me. The look he gave me made me want to leave, but I stood my ground and holstered my revolver. Putting my hands on my hips; I smiled at Gabe, "What now Reyes?" "Now we test his coordination and aim." He said, making his way over to the weapons cabinet. He pulled out a katana and a short sword, setting them on the bench before grabbing his signature shotguns. After holstering his shotguns, he grabbed the swords and went over to the Shimada kid. "These were made for you kid. But first we are gonna test your aim with your shruikens." Gabe said before leading the kid up to the bar and motioning for me to take the stall next to Shimada. I stepped up and laid out the next few rounds for my revolver. "Alright Shimada. Get at least 10 kills off on these bots. Same for you Jesse." I nodded as Gabe flicked the on switch. Swiftly flipping my revolver out of the holster, I headshot the first bot and waited with a smirk. When the next bot entered the small arena, it almost immediatly fell over with a shruiken sticking out of it's scanner. "Hmm. Not bad Shimada." I said and peeked around the barrier to see he had a set of shruikens sticking out of his hand. The process of instantly knocking the robots down went on until Gabe shut off the system. "Alright boys. I'm expect you two to be acquinted by Sunday morning. That's our next mission, and you're coming with us Shimada." He nodded silently and I tipped my hat, walking over to the weapon cabinet and slowly stripping off my gear. I heard Shimada come up behind me and watch silently. "Why are you taking that off, why don't you just keep it on." He asked, his voice slightly hoarse, probably from the surgeries he went through. I didn't answer and instead finished removing my gear and lead him towards the dining hall. "Why don't I explain over food?" "Sure."
