"Stay the fuck away from me!" I screamed, my breath unstable as I ran down the maze of alley ways.

The man just laughed and kept chasing me, the syringe of greenish white liquid still in his hand, a menacing smile on his face.

I was just walking home from the store when this guy popped out of nowhere, looking like some mad scientist, and started chasing me. This was not how I thought my Monday would go.

I whipped my head back to see if he was still following me when I hit a wall, sinking down to my knees. He kept walking closer and closer to me,  the syringe shining in the dim light of the street lamp. I suddenly felt a sharp pain in my neck and everything was black.

//Present Time//

My eyes opened and I was greeted with the familiar sight of computer code.

'What the fuck was that dream?' I thought.

Hell, I didn't even know if that was a dream. Computers aren't supposed to sleep for fucks sake!

There's just something about that 'dream' that felt so real, like I had lived through that, or at least something similar. But then, I was also controlling the body I was in, like I was human, but I'm just a program. I'm not capable of controlling a body. Or at least not that I know of.

My head felt like it was about to explode from all this thinking and I closed my eyes again, not wanting to deal with anyone or anything today. Then, thirty seconds after I closed my eyes I heard someone talking through the walls. It sounded like they were on the phone with someone, and they were not happy about it.

I tuned into their conversation, trying to figure out what they were saying.

"You said you deleted that part of his coding!" the person screamed.

"So he could, at any moment, remember his past?! Are you fucking kidding me Mark!"

The door to the room then slammed open and an angry looking guy stormed in, a slightly smashed phone in his hand.

He glared at me and walked closer to the monitor, keeping eye contact with me the whole time.

"I fucking know who you are, I know what you are. Don't try to fool me boy, cause I know every little detail about you. You won't get me now, I've learned, I've become stronger. So don't do anything funny, or you'll never see the light of day again," he growled, throwing his fist down onto the desk.

The man then stormed out, slamming the door behind him.

I hope he comes back. He clearly knows about me, about my past, about who or what I am. I need to find out.

"NO! NO! STOP, PLEASE STOP!" I screamed, thrashing against the restraints that held me down.

"Just give me the answers I need and I'll stop," he said, his deep voice sprouting fear in me.

"No," I whimpered, staring him straight in the eyes.

His brown eyes held no emotions, but I could tell they were once full of life, full of something. Then it struck me. I knew those eyes, that voice.

            "Mark?"
