chapter 4: change

The next morning i wake up and get me and cas ready for school when we get there emily comes racing up " Zoe " she screams "good morning" to you to i say she laughs "come on lets get to class" i was about 20 minutes left in the day   when an annoncement come over the speakers. "zoe and cassidy mason please report to the principles office. there were whispers all arounf the classroom as i stood up and grabbed my stuff " see you soon '  i called to emily she smiled back at me and i left. when i got there i saw cassie and dad standing there dad was talking to the lady at the desk and signing a heap of paper work. when cassie say me she ran over and jumped into my arms. "whats happing cas" i asked "i dont know" she said and a look of worry crossed her face. "oh well " i said  " at least we get of school early l"  and her gorgeous smiled returned to her face.  

dad finally finished and walked out to the car  he climbed into the car without saying a word. " girls" i looked up his breth smelt like alcholhol "you have 10 minutes to grab what ever you need and then we are leaving "  cas looked at me terror on her face " dad are we gonna pick mum up before we go " dad made a face and then said " no "  by the look on his face they must of been some heck of a fight. cassie turned to look at me she was about t cry so i gave her the symbol that i used to make when mum and dad were fighting in the car and she fell back against her seat.

when we got home mums car wasnt parked in the drive way. this was a bad sign i took cassies hand and we walked inside i went into her room to and picked out all her clothes shoved them into as may bags as  could find when that was done i gave her a bag and told her to pack her favouirite toys she nodded and i walked out . i walked into my room and started packing i wonder where we are going i thought. when i was done i grabed my bags and put them in the car. then i walked back inside and put casie in her pjs just in case this car trip was long and put cassies bags in the boot i shut it and climbed in the back next to cassie. she put her pillow in my lap and layed down  it was pretty late and she was exhausted so i pulled out a blanket and layed it over the top of her. once i was sure she was asleep i turned towards the front to face dad. 

"dad , where are we going "  i asked.  dad looked back and said  we are moving to a new town zoe. "wait WHAT!"  "shhh" he said youll wake cassie. you and cassie will make new friends ive already got you booked into school". "dad" i said " this is crazy what about mum."  tears brimmed over his eyes. " she does not matter anymore zoe" "WHAT, dad are you insane she is our mother" he ignored me. "you know, the women who raised us." "raised you zoe are you stupid" his words stung he had never called me that before. "or maybe your just delusional she was never home waking up early working till late you barely saw her". "how dare you say that about her. you were not much better yourself" to shocked and hurt to even stand him anymore i closed my eyes and fell to sleep.
