Children are playful. People are hopeless. Families are desperate. This leads to deep dark holes they can't escape without someone getting hurt.

5 year old Jase ran around outside. The brunette giggling as the ball was kicked around. As he kicked it really hard he slipped and hit the ball into the arm of a poor girl walking down the street. She hissed in pain and Jase quickly ran over. "I'm sorry Ms!" The girl looked down at him any looks of fury gone. She just smiled sweetly and walked to a bench. Jase shrugged it off as she saw nothing wrong with the lady and continued to play as he ran past her he picked up the ball preparing to walk back until she spoke up "what did you saw your name was sweet pea?" She asked. Jase was a smart kid so he hesitated telling her his name but finally broke "Jase-" he smiled. He used this time to examine the older lady.

She was a blonde, a strawberry blonde to be specific with short curly hair and appeared to be in her mid-twenties. She had a bright completion and very pale skin that from her shoulders appearances were fragile and burned easily since the skin on her shoulders were flakey from a peeling sunburn along with her arms having bruised easily from where the ball hit her. Her eyes were her most stunning feature though. They were green but not just any green a green you would only see on a dragon eye. It was oddly hypnotic. "Thats a lovely name mine is El-" before she could finish shouting was heard from the house. "Jase! Time to come home!" The small child heard his mother call out snapping him out of whatever trance had him. "I have to go..." jase said "well i do too. bu-bye!" She smiled and turned walking off. The last thing he notices about the lady was that pinned up in her hair was a stone. A gem stone, a red diamond.

It was odd. He walked backwards staring at the gem, but quickly fell backwards as he tried to regain his footing he realized he dropped his ball and saw it roll into the middle of the street. He ran out after it unaware of his surroundings. He grabbed the ball and hugged it to his chest whimpering at the almost loss. He was about to turn around but was stopped when he was suddenly flying forward at a violent speed into a parked car. He had just been hit by a drunk driver who was going way too fast for a neighborhood school zone. Jase felt nothing from his neck down and was bleeding heavily. He still managed to keep his ball in his lap though. His big brother peter gave it to him and he was not willing to let it go. He heard his mother rush to his side but everything she said was just noise before all the noise stopped and the sound of a high pitch ring replaced it. "You're coming home Jase-" was all he heard from the odd ringing.

The ringing stopped suddenly and made a sound that he had heard once before when his grandpa was sick in a hospital bed and he just stopped. The sound of a flat line. His last heart beat ringing in his ears, until it finally stopped and pain became a distant memory while the world faded to black.
