The funeral was over finally. There's only so much intentional fake depression from Peter's relatives that he could take. They didn't even know Jase they just wanted another family meeting where they could argue with his parents about there political views. It made Peter sick if he was being honest. Thinking about how if he was dead his family would just want to argue while his parents mourned his death and we're told they were just faking it because they had to. That his mom was just faking her PTSD because watching your youngest son get hit by a car and die in your arms isn't traumatic at all. Peter sometimes just wanted his parents' families would just disown their whole family so he didn't have to say he was related to a bunch of closed minded big-

"Peter!" James yelled trying to get his friend's attention like he had been for the past three minutes "The theater is back there!" he shouted pointing backwards to where the large building owned by the school stood tall and proud. The boys always made up jokes about it saying that there principal bought it on the underground market or won it in an illegal game of poker just little jokes that would hold them over until their principal answered their question of if he was a drug dealer. The jokes weren't necessarily funny but it made them giggle like school girls. Sure this isn't how normal teenage boys act, but James and Peter were certainly not normal. A girl walked out of the theater with an accomplished look on her face a red gem of sorts sitting above her ear in a clip in her hair as she walked away. The boys decided to wait outside for a bit since a woman just walked out and they didn't wanna be too suspicious.

After a few minutes though things got a bit freaking all the kids were evacuating people were in tears and two girls that weren't part of the school walked out and ran. one looked about a year or so younger than the two boys, the other looking like she should have been in the fourth grade. Suddenly police cars were pulling up to the theater along with ambulances. People began to get pushed backwards as the police and the paramedics ran in. "what happened?" Peter asked quietly as the teacher walked up behind him "There was an accident. A couple lights fell onto a boy in the area." She said wiping away some tears. The covenant explanation made Peter and James look at each other in shock. Things like this never happened in the town as far as they knew. "How?" Peter asked his voice shaky. "We don't know. One moment he was talking to a young woman looking to be hired into our program the next she was leaving and the lights fell. We didn't see anything that might have happened." The woman stated going over to some approaching police officer as the sobbing began.

"She did it" James said turning away "Wait what?!" Peter yelped running after his now rushing friend. "I mean come on dude the cops are gonna know it's her." James stated "'we saw nothing' that's what she told us but she's the one who takes care of those kids basically and she treats them like crap." James stated even more blandly "She freaks out if one of her professional kids tries out for a play and that kid was a lead. If he messed up a line who know's what kind of reaction she could have." Peter rolled his eyes "I can't... Whatever detective dumbass" James chuckled at his new nickname "Couldn't do it without you doctor prick" Peter laughed. These nicknames were accurate. James wanted to be a private detective for married couples who believe their spouse was cheating, while Peter wanted to become a medical examiner.

The boys walked down the street laughing and joking. "Bingo. Girls, we've found our new play things" A blonde woman said to the two girls that had run out of the building earlier.
