I sat on a rock at the quarry watching the boys bicker about who was going first. I look to my side to see Bev running up the hill. Bev starts stripping until she down to just her undergarments. "Come on Emily. Aren't you swimming?"
"Uh I-I don't-" I was cut off by Bev pulling me off my rock. She looked at me hopefully. With a heavy sigh I start to strip to my undergarments.
As we run up to the cliff I hear one of the boys ask. "So who's going first?"
Bev snatches my hand and yells. "We will!" Then we jump off the off the cliff.
As we plummet towards the water I can hear Richie yell. "What the fuck?!"
Bev and I hit the water with a slash. When we come up for air we burst in to fits of laughter. I look up at the boys. "Well are you coming or not?"
One by on they all jump. Stan happy with going last. After a little while of goofing around Eddie swims over to me. "I thought you weren't going to swim."
"Well I wasn't but Bev talked me into it." I explained petaling my legs to stay above the water. I'm the shortest out of the seven of us. Yes, even shorter than Eddie.
We all decided to play a game of chicken. Eddie and I were a team, Bev and Richie, then Bill and Stan. Ben was our referee. Bill and Stan immediately charged for Bev and Richie. "I hope you know we don't stand a chance." Eddie voiced his opinion.
"We just need to wait for them to get done fighting, then there will only be one left and that team will be tired and we can easily defeat them." I said, swinging my legs while atop Eddie's shoulders.
After a minute or so of watching Bev and Bill trying to push each other a miracle happened, both teams went crashing into the water.
"Who went done first? It was Bill right?" Richie shouted has he emerged from the water.
Ben gave a small shrug. "Doesn't matter. Em and Eddie are still standing."
I did a little victory poss, though it didn't last long. Eddie and I were quickly attack by the two losing teams. I was harshly yanked from Eddie's shoulders, sending me forcefully into the water.
Unfortunately Eddie and I stayed in the shallow end. Which means I was not only met with water but I was also met with the quarry bottom. Causing my head to thud against it, making me meet darkness.
