I put my own little spin on a tumblr prompt, buttttt it;s the soulmate Au in which you have a tattoo of the first words your soulmate speks to you

Camila's ten year old self is furious. Beyond furious, she's... well like, she's ten so she doesn't have a word that goes beyond there but she's more mad than she's ever been.

For the majority of her childhood she's had one idol and one idol only. Shrek.

Shrek was her inspiration for all and it was simple. He was ugly on the outside but beautiful on the inside, funny, smart, witty as heck, and he got the pretty girl to like him back. These are all qualities Camila thinks a person needs to have. And he's green for Pete's sake! All the more reason to support him unconditionally.

When the second movie came out in theaters, she was seven and completely smitten with the movie. The transition from humans to ogres was so cool and the fact that they chose to love themselves as they are in the end was truly the most amazing message she could've wished to take away.

She watched these movies religiously, forced Dinah to watch them with her too. If somebody were to ask what her favorite movie was she would laugh in their face because, seriously? Is that even a question in this time when Shrek exists?

Now when the trailers for Shrek the Third hit television, Camila wasn't as excited as every other little kid, she was more so, you know why?

Because for the past ten years she had been looking at her soul mate tattoo and dreaming about this day.

I'm just saying you're wrong, Shrek the Third is the best one, hands down.

They have to be right. Her soulmate, she isn't sure boy or girl, but she trusts them. They're her soulmate for christ's sake, they wouldn't be wrong about something this serious, or at least that's what she thought.

The movie fucking sucked.

Camila is ten years old, and she doesn't like to swear because her mom says she isn't allowed but the movie fucking sucked. It was so bad that Camila feels like maybe she should send a letter or something to tell Mike Myers that she's disappointed.

She trusted this person's word. The's trusted their word since the day she put together that it meant there were going to be at least three Shrek movies. Hell, she's thought about how great this would be for years and now all she has is a wasted ten dollar ticket and a soulmate with shitty movie taste?

She spends the next ten years of her life feeling this way. Sure, she has periods where she feels less strongly about it, but for the most part she's pissed. Out of the four Shrek films, and now that she is twenty one and out of new Shrek, she can safely say Shrek the Third is a piece of garbage excuse of a movie that should've never been made.

Camila feels like this one thing takes away any desire to meet her soulmate, like kind of.

Not really, she actually wants to meet them just to make sure they were kidding when they said Shrek the Third is the best Shrek. She's hoping it's sarcasm or something, because there is no way that anyone could possibly, actually believe that Shrek that Third is better than the other three movies of perfection.

Her twenty one year old self is curious now though, not furious. She's at the dining commons when it happens.

"There's no way that's right Lo, the movie really sucks, especially compared to the other three," and it's the table over, and it catches her attention and she's listening, and like, also looking over as subtly as she can without letting Dinah know she's listening to them because Dinah would do something obnoxious like assume Camila was checking them out or some shit and start conversation.

The girls sitting across from her are both perfect. One dark skinned and shaped like an actual angel. The other pale and just as perfect. Both have faces that, Camila can't get too close a look but she's sure they're beautiful.

But she's listening because whenever people talk about movies she listens, she takes movies very seriously which is why she's so offended that her dumb ass soulmate thinks Shrek the Third is good.

"It has a bad reputation for a reason," a voice pitches and just when Camila is about to add her commentary because it's a Shrek conversation so obviously she has to but in, it happens.

"I'm just saying you're wrong, Shrek the Third is the best one, hands down."

She sees red.

If she focused she would've seen raven hair and pale skin and green eyes but she sees red.

She's mad.

"You!" Camila's yelling before she can stop herself and the girl taking stops and turns to face her and, like if Camila wasn't so pissed she would've passed out at how pretty this girl is but like, "you're the one!" she yells again as she storms over.

For her part, the raven haired girl looks shocked, bewildered, flabbergasted (Camila has words now that she's not ten), and happy. It's not happy at first, but her eyes flick from Camila's pissed off face to her tattooed wrist and she begins to laugh.

"This really umm," she speaks between giggles and Camila kind of finds herself laughing too at the situation. "This isn't how I was expecting this to happen," she continues and Camila doesn't really have it in her anymore to be mad.

This girl's laugh is enough to take away the concern for her movie taste and her eyes are enough to take away the pain of false hope before she knew what a bad movie it was.

Because Camila's seen her now, and since she's seen the girl's face, you could call her a believer.
