The troop A stands in front of the store, hearing the disaster going on inside from over a block away. Now there are news vans, and civilians gathered, holding up phones and cameras, recording.
Kasey leads the troop into the store, battle ready. No one tries to stop them, but watches. Tension fills the air.
"DUCK!" Ethan yells and the group ducks, a large shelf flying over them into the door, blocking their way out. Also blocking any way in.
"Shit..." Edward says, and he starts shooting any video game character he comes across. At that, they all split up, doing the same.
Another shelf is thrown, going through the broken window, barely missing the crowd of people watching. The video game characters grew more intelligent, realizing they can escape. And that they do.
Characters fly out of the windows, and screaming from civilians is heard. Kasey curses and throws a book at one of PACMANs ghosts, stopping it from escaping. It hisses and turns to Kasey, speeding to her.
She braces herself for impact, until a large grunt and a hiss is heard. She opens her eyes just as Edward slams himself into the ghost, saving her. She takes that moment to pick up her axe, and kill the ghost. She nods to Edward, before running off. Edward does the same.
Mark and Luigi circle each other, and Luigi speaks. Mark stands shocked.
"ALL OF THESE YEARS HIDDEN IN THE SHADOW OF MY BROTHER! TIME FOR REVENGE!" Luigi laughs and starts running towards Mark.
Mark hesitates, but brings his bat into Luigi's neck, and a sickening snap is heard. Luigi runs around blindly, screaming in pain.
"I'm so sorry..." Mark says, before bringing the bat to Luigi's head, ending it. "I'm so sorry..." he says once more before turning, and slamming into Mario. Mario looked pissed.
"YOU- YOU JUST KILLED MY BROTHER!!"
Mark takes a step back and sighs. "He didn't like you much anyways."
"THATSA LOAD OF DOOKIE!" Mario screams in his unique accent and slams himself into Mark, knocking Mark back.
Mark slams into the shelf behind him and gasps, the wind knocked out of him. He pulls himself together as Mario gets ready again.
He picks up his bat and lifts it up, slamming it down onto Mario's head. He yells, angrier then before. Mark curses and turns to run.
The whole troop waits at the door for Mark, screaming at him to hurry. He sprints to them, and they all escape through a lower window.
Then Mark realizes someone is missing. "WHERE IS ANNE?!?"
A loud vroom of a car is heard, then tires squealing. Anne jumps out of the window as the car slams through the store door, distracting anyone from watching where they go. "Lets move!" She hisses, and they all start running. During the run, mark calls out between pants.
"You guys came back!"
"Never leave a man behind." Kasey grunts, her jaw clenched.
"Plus I don't want to be the one explaining it to Amy when she wakes up." Ethan comments, earning a laugh from some of them.
