Marina's POV
Even from outside, you'll see clearly that it is a five-star hotel. But why on earth in the middle of nowhere? Oh, because it is run by vampires.
After he gave the car keys to the chauffeur standing at the entrance of the hotel, we went inside.
The huge wooden doors opened and I gasped in awe as we enter the majestic building. Seriously, the whole place screams vanity.
There were pillars of gold, the floor was covered in red carpet, and bright chandeliers hang on the ceiling. We stopped by to admire the interior of the hotel.
Oh, and I almost forgot, there were millions of vampires around me. Everywhere I turn, I see a bunch of pale blood-sucking people in tuxedos and dresses talking to each other. I can't help but shudder in anxiety.
Fuck you, Chase.
I looked at him, shrugging off the thought of what he had done earlier in the car.
"I know, I know. I'm hot." He smirked when he saw that I was looking at me. Thank God he didn't read my mind.
"Oh are you?" I chuckled.
"Of course I am. And don't worry, so are you." He paused and looked into my eyes,
"And honestly, you look beautiful in that dress tonight." He said softly.
I held my breath, waiting for the part where he says 'Kidding!' or 'Did you really believe that?'. But no such words followed.
And at this moment, I felt the sincerity in his voice and in the way his charcoal black eyes stare into mine. I don't know why or how, but I suddenly felt a fluttering in my stomach. Like, millions of butterflies are flying wildly inside me, making me feel uneasy. Making me smile uncontrollably.
The people around us were blurry, as to we didn't care about the people around us. The tension around us was getting heavy, as he continues to look into my eyes.
I tried to open my mouth to say something, but shit, cat got my tongue. No words came out.
"But for the record, you look more beautiful wearing nothing at all. Yo Voltaire!" He said and turned to the table where his friends are, with his hands clasped in mine.
It took me a few moments before fully processing what he said. And when I did, my cheeks instantly heated up and turned red. Chase turned to look at me and winked.
Come on. He had to ruin the moment. He just had to, didn't he?
"Chase! I didn't know you were coming." Voltaire said when we arrived at their table. There were many round tables scattered around the venue, but their table was at the center, and it was the biggest table in the whole room.
"Yeah, you're fifteen minutes late." Tyson looked at his wrist watch.
"Which is unusual cause you're never late." Jesse said, taking a sip from the glass of champagne in his hand.
"Yeah. I know." Chase laughed while pouring champagne on two glasses. "I had to pick up my date first, of course." He said before handing the glass to me. I smiled as I accept it.
"Woah. Savannah. You look beautiful!" Lazaro said, looking at me from head to toe, with his eyes stopping on my cleavage.
"Thank you." I smiled.
It's fine with me. I'm used to people complementing my body. But it sure isn't fine with Chase.
"Laz." He said in a calm but powerful voice. Lazaro laughed with his hands in the air. The whole group laughed and I couldn't help but laugh too. Chase can be really overprotective sometimes.
