How do you spend a day waiting? Waiting for something important. And not just waiting, but you also have to be preparing. How do you do it?
Sa mga oras na nandito tayo sa mundo, maraming mga bagay tayong pinaghahandaan. Whether to attend our classes, gumala at magshopping, magluto at mag-entertain ng bisita at kung anu-ano pa.
Sa mga bagay na ating ginagawa hindi natin maiwasang maghintay at maghanda. Para sa akin, ang dalawang gawaing ito ay kasama sa mga bagay na medyo may kahirapang gawin ng tama.
Nakakabagot maghintay. Nakakapagod maghanda. But at some point of our lives, we have to do them well.
Being a licensed professional is a dream of all graduates. After studying for how many years, the next step is to prepare to take the licensure exam. Getting the license is one of the top priorities to qualify for work and earn competitively.
However, board examinations are not an easy feat. Some has to take multiple chances to pass. Others even have to enroll in refresher courses to qualify again. The pressure is real in those times of preparation. Kakapagod. Kakastress.
As a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy, the next step in my journey is to take the local boards. No hospitals would let me work without a license. And since I wanted to practice my profession, I must gear myself to achieve it.
They say that the PT Local Boards ranks among the Top 5 hardest board examinations in the country. The preparation while waiting, then, has taken its toll on me. The pressure has gotten on my nerves.
One method I realized that enabled me to release the stress as I prepared for it is journaling. To write and express myself without the judging eyes of anybody. Since I am the only one who can read the entry, I can freely say whatever I wanted to say; I can keep track of my progress; I can check my mood level; and I can know where I would need help in this battle of waiting and preparation.
Kaya malaya kong hinayaan ang aking sariling magsulat ng mga bagay na marahil walang kabuluhan sa iba ngunit malaki ang kahulugan sa akin. I addressed them to God. Every entry is a form of prayer as I related to Him the highlights of what happened to me during the day. Every night before sleeping, I got to spend time writing to Him.
It helped me in that phase of my life's journey. Now, I am already a Physical Therapist Registered in the Philippines (PTRP). I have now my license believing that from those little things I did, something great has sprouted.
It's been more than a year since I took the exam but the memories of the preparation is still fresh in my journals and I want to relive them.
