"Hello, young lady. How may-oh dear! Have you been sleeping well?"
"Hmm? Sleeping well, you say? Not at all."
"What is the matter, my dear? Is everything good at home? Are you ill?'
"That's not really the case, Mrs Green."
"Then what is it? You can tell me. I know that you must sometimes deeply miss your mother, but I have told you several times to come and talk to me if anything is troubling you. This is not how it is going to work. Here, have some tea and biscuits."
"Thank you, Mrs Green."
"Now, what seems to be the problem? I might be old, but I am capable of taking down whoever is troubling you."
"It's nothing of that sorts."
"What is it, then?"
"School."
"School? How ignorant of me! I read everyday in the paper about the depressed kids these days because of school and it never even crossed my mind. I apologize, my dear."
"It's okay, Mrs Green."
"Now, you will take these lemon incense sticks and scent from me and use them everyday, is that clear?"
"Yes, Mrs Green."
"Good. And if I find that you are not wearing this scent the next time you visit me or the sticks aren't burning when I do so, there will be consequences, young lady."
"Understood, Mrs Green. Thank you for the tea and biscuits. I shall leave now if I have to make it in time for my next class. How much for all of this?"
"Don't you worry, dear. I'll charge your brother the next time he visits, and I hope that's soon. It's been nearly a month since I have seen his face."
"I wish I could say the same. Now if you are really eager to take someone down, he is the one troubling me."
"You kids, always having a fit. Now, go."
"Goodbye, Mrs Green."
For sometimes things happen to people about whom we care but lack of awareness makes us wonder what's wrong when it's all in front of our stare.
